Hello,
Is there anyone here who got PR but they changed their employer before got the PR?
Im still waiting for my PPR. Dec 05 applicant. I already quit with my job and not sure if cic will gonna call my employer for verification.

Hello,

When I received my file number this was the message embedded in the email.
"Please inform the Centralized Intake Office by e-mail at CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry@cic.gc.ca of any status changes in your application (birth or adoption of a child, marriage or common-law relationship, new occupation or employer, change of address, change of e-mail address, change of immigration representative, etc). Please include a letter identifying what the changes are and any relevant supporting documents. If your documents are not in English or French, send a notarized (certified) translation with a copy of the originals.".

According to this statement we need to inform CIC of any job changes before the application has been processed. If for some reason officer wanted to inquiry about your job with employer and he finds out you are not employed with them any more there might be a chance or rejection or delay in file process. Please confirm this with others as well before you proceed.

If I am in your situation, I would update PNP and CIC that I quit my job (in open work permit as well). The process is not dependent on our job or experience. It is more relatively dependent with Nominee program. You are nominated by a province to be eligible for applying PR. So updating will not be not be an issue and does not delay the process. And moreover our nomination certificate bears the name of the employer and NOC code. To be on safer side updating our status should not be a problem. But if they find out by themselves, the file might go on hold until they get explanation.

I'd be careful with that approach. My nomination was on the basis that I had a full time ongoing job offer of indeterminate length (ie: not contract work). If I were to no longer have that job, then my nomination would be invalid and could be withdrawn by the province. Which would then mean your PR application would not be approved.

I don't know if this is the same for everyone though, and the alternative is to not tell them which is also bad. I'd suggest seeking proper legal advice for this one.
