I finished my landing from "fort Erie: yesterday night around 11PM. The office asked me some questions like 1) where are you coming from? 2) where do you live and on what status? & 3) where do you work and what's your position there?

It took me just 5 mins to finish the entire process since there was no line. I would surely recommend to finish your landing at fort Erie.
Thanks for all the help from this forum and its wonderful people. All the best :D

Where are you landing? I rented a car to go to the Peace Arch in Vancouver and had a similar concern, so I just parked the car on the Canadian side and walked over to do my landing on foot. But it probably would have been fine if I drove - I just didn't want to take the chance.

o really quink. I did my landing there as well and on a rental vehicle as I was visiting vancouver. I rented from Avis through costco and they told me that I dont need further documentation for crossing border as their vehicles already have insurance. Its better to check with ur rental company. at the border the officer did not even ask about the vehicle. Waiting time on vehicle was around 20 mins to get to the post. how did you do on foot. I couldnt see any side walk there? and its a pretty busy border.

Honestly I didn't really check with the rental agency because my intention was always going to be to walk. When approaching the duty free there's a side road on the right hand side which you turn down and you can stop in the parking lot for the peace arch provincial park. Then you start walking left over the road and there's a sidewalk that runs along side the northbound road past the actual peace arch. When you get to the US border line the sidewalk stops (no funding from the americans? LOL), but it's all grass anyway. As you get closer to the US office there are signs directing pedestrians where to go.

It's a beautiful park (especially if it's a nice day) and I wanted to savour the moment too - in a car you never actually stop and check out the view. :)

Also if anyone cud throw light on whether urgent pr card processing is still possible or not?

I guess he just wanted to make it easier for the next guy checking to find the last stamp.
There is no need of a visa after getting pr..its only the card to be used for travel..so they sometimes destroy the old documents and shred the old permits
