Hi there,

I would like to know if it would be difficult for my wife's mom (my wife is a PR and I am a citizen) to come over for a visit? We are still sorting out our employment, but things should be settled very soon (we just arrived last month). My wife's mom is now retired, but she does own a house (plus investments) and all her family is still in China (husband, daughter, extended family, etc..). Would this be enough to satisfy the visa officer that she would leave Canada before the expiration date of her visa?

We really need her to come over and help take care of our son so that we can work full-time and earn money to support our life....at least until we are more established in Canada.

Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What is the duration of the visa? 6 months?

I would also like to know if it is common to get an extension on the original visa?

Thank you to all who reply!
