can someone please help me with this
I'm in Canada since August 2009 , I applied as protected person in 2009 and get my PR in march 2014 .never left Canada .
I thought it's time for me to apply for citizenship since change came unto a fact in June 2017 ..
now I need to print out the physical presence calculator but every time this Calculator tells me that I'll be eligible to apply in March 2018 !! how come and i'm already 8 years in Canada , 5 years before becoming a PR and almost 3 years after PR
I thought CIC said we can apply in Fall 2017 , we are already in Fall now

If you read this forum you will see that bill C6 was passed in June but the actual effective date has not yet been published other than a general statement sometime in Fall. Neither have any of the supporting processes such as the physical presence calculator or forms been changed.

Once an effective date is announced then the 3/5 rule will come into play and based on your info you should qualify straight away, just need be patient unfortunately and watch the press and this forum. For sure the latter will be shouting out the effective date when announced.

I really didn't see any difference with C6 toward my case since I can still apply on March 2018 which's not that Far !
