Hi all,

I applied for my PGWP on October 27, 2012. I received a letter dated December 5, 2012 saying that they could not process it because I had not paid the fee. I contacted them on December 15 with my receipt number that I received from them processing my payment on October 27. The call centre agent said she would send an email to the Case Processing Centre and have them review my application and it shouldn't take more than 2 weeks as they just have to look that they received my payment rather than me having to resubmit everything again. I am at my wits end as I have a really good job offer but I can't hold out from answering much longer and I fear I will lose it. Does anyone have any advice or contact for the Case Processing Centre so I can reach them directly?

Hi,

Just try to contact

Question@cic.gc.ca for this case. You will need to provide some information about you in the email, i.g., Your Client ID, Date of Birth, Official Name, Current Status, Mailing address & Contact number, Place of Birth and so on. Please refer to the following list:

1. Surname (last name)- Exactly as it appears on the passport or identity document

2. Given name(s) (first name)- Exactly as it appears on the passport or identity document

3. Date of birth (YYYY-MM-DD)

4. Country of birth

5. Complete address (including the postal code). If the residential address is different from the mailing address, please provide both addresses.

6. Telephone number. If you have more than one contact number, please provide them all.

7. Client ID Number

8. Online application reference number

9. Type of application (work permit, study permit or visitor record)

10. Approximate date that the application was submitted

I am not sure whether they will confirm the receipt of your payment right away for you, but you can still try it out.

Hope everything works well. The Lord will give you an answer if you ask.

Cheers

the email above is useful! They will get back to you within 3 business days, and plus - it is always better to have some written evidence!
Don't worried. At least you are given a chance to sort things out instead of being rejected.

Thanks. The latest update is that the email sent on Dec. 18th from Call Centre to Case Centre, was fwded on Jan. 3rd to a Team Leader/specific Case Worker to review. I have been calling everyday since then and still nothing. Wait and see. Am getting impatient. I also sent hard copy files to the Case Centre directly with a letter outlining situation. That was delivered and signed for yesterday. I really would like to start a new job on Jan. 21st but need this work permit before then. I don't know if the company will keep accommodating me since they have done so for a month already. Sigh.

Can you post the Team Leader's email here (the forwarding email address)?

Back in 2011, I sent in the paper application to renew both my SP and Co-op WP. After waiting for more than 4 months, I was told that they can't find anything on file! Then they directed me to send the whole package again to an address directed to the TEAM LEADER - OSS. And I got them both within a week afterwards.

It has been more than 3 weeks from Dec 18th to now and it seems rather long to me.

Hi there - I don't have the email address for the Team Leader. I wish I did. No, basically I've been calling the Call Centre and the agent at the Call Centre sent an email on to Vegreville. And then it is showing in the system that someone at Vegreville has flagged the email and it is being reviewed by a Team Leader. I wish I had an email address for Vegreville. I did send them a letter by Fedex though so I am hoping they figure it out soon enough. At this stage I am just tired and would like a response either way so I can get on with things.

Did you call again to at least see if the email has been forwarded?

May I ask if you applied online or through paper? According to the CIC website, they are still on Oct 10 submissions.. It seems that the time is not so much reliable.

Hi there,

I was calling everyday. So since the email was sent on Dec. 18th, the next update was that on Jan. 3rd it was being reviewed by a Team Leader. I called today and heard the magic words. Visa has been approved (Jan. 10th) and in the post. So I got a PGWP for one year and I have some job opps lined up so hopefully will be working by the beginning of Feb. and then will start focussing ont he next steps ... :)

Thank you so much for all your assistance!

you should contact the MP in your area.....this happened with me....my OCWP was not issued until 3 months....one call from the minister's office and there they were stamping my wp.......

apparently when a minister calls, CIC has 24 hours to give a response and in my case they issued my wp...i guess that would be for you too..I was referred by a lawyer to visit the MP in my area...

I did apply online and it should take 30 to 40 days. I think the problem with mine was that there was a disconnect between my payment (as I got a receipt) and it showing up on their system that I had paid. Cuz by Dec. 5th when I should have been getting the permit was when they were writing me but instead telling me "we couldn't process because you didn't pay".

Anyways its all good now and at least I have a year to gain more work experience and money and maybe see if I can figure out the next steps to provincial nomination and PR.
