Hi Fellow members,
I finished a one year MBA in Canada and secured a one year PGWork Permit which is about to expire in 2 months i.e. Dec 2010. I just found a permanent job with an employer. I have read that companies hiring someone on a PGWork Permit and willing to hire them on a permanent basis, need not show recruitment/advertising efforts to get the LMO. Given my current conditions, what should I do to get the LMO and my employer does not sponsor anyone. I am assuming that since the LMO process for me is simple it should not be a problem. I'd really welcome directions from you folks to proceed with my case. Could I hire a lawyer to do the LMO?
Thanks,

It is your prospective employer who has to apply for the LMO, not you or your representative.

The employer has to show he's advertised the post, cannot hire a canadian of equal or better experience in the position and that the working conditions and pay is commensurate to the position (ie he's not hiring cheap foreign labour). If your employer receives a +LMO you then use it to apply for a TWP
