hi,

i have one question regarding PR obligation.

1. If someone has not been physically present in Canada for 2 years out of 5 years period, thus PR status expired with the expiry date on the PR card? And if he/she later want to apply again to get it's PR status back, thus this can happen?

Thank you in advance. Please reply if anyone have any info on it.

No, the PR status itself never expires. In order to lose PR status, the person would have to either renounce it or they get examined and reported and their PR status gets revoked.

Examination can happen when you enter Canada or when you apply for something from immigration, say a travel document, new PR card or even to sponsor a relative.

It is possible if you managed to get to Canada without being reported, that you continue to stay for another 2 years at which point you meet the residency requirements again with 2 years in Canada in the past 5 and hence can apply to renew your PR card and they would have to do that.
