Hi everyone, I have created this post to track the progress of everybody who applied at the Islamabad HC for TRV recently.

Essentially anybody who has applied after 15 Feb please share your details and progress on here...thanks..

hi all,

i am planning to apply for visit visa. first i want to know the minimum amount i should have to show in my bank statement? second question, whats the probability of getting visa as i dont have any friend or family in canada but want to go there to spend holidays. can anybody guide/help?

Hi there,

You need to have confirm hotel reservation. Show proof of employment. For every month spend in canada you need $1000-1500 but however your bank account should have much more..Probably anything over $8500-10000(equivalent in PKR) would be good if not ideal(there is no set amount) Having said that you need to have Enough to buy a return air ticket, have confirmed/paid in advance hotel booking...show strong ties to your home country so that you will return to your home country after your trip. good travel history(if you have traveled abroad before) will be beneficial for you.

These are some of things a VO will consider very important when they decide to give you a visa. I should also add that like many other countries Canada is not a tourist friendly country as most people from third world countries go there and they end up never leaving Canada. Canada however welcomes a lot of tourists from other countries in Europe and south America- and alot of people from these countries don't need visa to enter Canada.

kindly let me know that amount of $1000 - 1500 will be enough if one chooses to live in hotel / guest house ?

pls tell me one more thing if i show bank statement of PKR 5 - 6 lacs and attach my car papers, service certificate from employer and family details just to show the ties i have in pakistan. further i have visited UK and UAE and returned in time. wud that make any difference?

1000-1500 is on top of hotel expenses - you will most likely pay in advance for your hotel. You will need an employment letter which clearly states you are being granted leave for xx weeks to visit canada and other things as I mentioned above- your travel history seems fine to me. 5-6 lakhs seem ok again not ideal but pretty sufficient - it all depends how long you wish to stay in canada.(you gotta consider the cheapest airfare out of pakistan for canada is close to a lakh + Living expenses(hotels etc) + food/misc/shopping/travelling expenses - you gotta do your homework and figure out the expenses you might incur...you might end up spending 3+ lakhs easy on a 15-20 day trip you know.

Also you will have to write a letter explaining the purpose of your trip, why you want to visit canada where you will be staying which places you will visit etc ..It should be a detailed, well written, well explained letter which describes the intention of your visit, also your current occupation and why it will be important for you to return after your trip to Canada.

Again, like I said Canada is not a very tourist friendly country. They might welcome people from alot of other countries but people from third world countries usually visit Canada either to meet family/relatives or to study there or they immigrate. Again, I am not trying to discourage you thats what I have found out over there. I have myself applied for a TRV last week on Feb 20th...lets see what happens...

TRV Timeline for everybody who applied at Islamabad CHC

I applied on feb 20th

I applied for my Father's TRV on Feb 21th. I understand that it takes 70 days for a decision. May 1....

I see your PR took less than a year? did you apply in economic class and I understand you applied at the London CHC ..did you goto london on a tourist visa or you applied at ISB CHC and they processed your case in London?

I applied in Federal Skilled Worker category, I think it is the same as economic worker. I applied via courier to CIO in Canada, after initial review they forward the Pakistani applications to London Visa Office. My application was finalized by London VO and at the final visa issuance stage they directed me to courier the passports to CHC Islamabad. There was no visit involved to CHC London or Islamabad.
