Hello All,
I am applying for PCC for my Canadian citizenship application as I have spent more than 183 days in India in last 4 years. My situation is little complicated.

I got married in Dec 2016 in India and got separated after two months. My marriage is registered in India. Now my confusion is should I put Married or single as my marital status in PCC form?

if I write Single, do Indian high commission have access to database to Indian records where they could find that I am married.

Please help me!

Thank You in advance!!

Yep...
If you have not legally divorced / separated you are married, in my opinion. Consult with a lawyer for a better answer, as it's an important matter.

Anything on the application that you write has to be true to the best of your knowledge, otherwise if you write anything knowingly false, can be grounds for citizenship revocation, later.

Simply put be truthful and get legal advice.

There is no requirement of being married or unmarried, or anything related to your spouse, for your citizenship.

If you are not divorced then you are legally married. Separation means nothing in legal terms.

I have a question for PCC - I lived in my home country till 2014. And moved to Canada. My police certificate is issued this year in 2017 and just lists till 2014. Not beyond that , do i need it till 2017? I am getting too confused.

You didn't live there after 2014, hence the time period till 2014, should be fine.

I just visited my home country in end of 2015 and a month in 2016. Less than 50 days ( 2015 and 2016). I just visited there- will the police certificate be fine? Just making sure, can CIC request an updated police certificate or they will just return the application?

In my opinion it won't be returned as they will check for necessary documents as per checklist and complete application+ fee. Are they going to ask for updated PCC, no one knows. You can try to add an explanation letter giving brief reason as to why it is uptill 2014.
