Hi everybody!

I need an advice and I think a lot of people here was in my situation.

I need to send my passport to visa office that is not in my country. Sending passport is not a problem - I can do it with DHL or UPS. But how can I get it back then? I don't think VO will send it by regular mail, because it's very slow and unreliable. Can I somehow pay the return envelope in DHL and ask VO to use it?

If somebody has already done something like this, please share your experience.

No, you cannot send it VIA DHL. They will not accept it when you give it for shipment.

But what option do I have in this case? And you write "They will not accept it when you give it for shipment."
Who "they"? DHL will not accept such a delivery or visa office?

I doubt if they (VO) will send it with usual post. I know in Canada post service works well, but in my case visa office is not in Canada, and usual post is very unreliable (and slow by the way).

And what is interesting... There is no information neither on cic.gc.ca, nor on the official website of that specific embassy where I have to send passport.

you can get the stamping VO changed. Email the VO processing or CIC and ask them that the stamping be done in your country of residence.

Yes, you can send it DHL, FedEX, UPS, and should (for proof of delivery). Many applicants are confused about this because so many are from India, and the Indian government says it's illegal to send Indian passports by mail. But it is quite normal and customary for the rest of the world.

As for return - generally it is by regular post. However, no one can help you unless you state the specific visa office. Of course, you could contact them yourself.

Thank you for your advice.

I'm not worrying about sending passport abroad. I think it's legal in my country. By the way, my visa office is in Warsaw, Poland. My concern is how to get it back. And regular post in my country is very unreliable.

I understand that, but one poster above stated it was not possible, my response took that into consideration.

Either send a case-specific enquiry, or contact the Visa office directly:

Contact VFS Global in Poland. Their page says they will send it back via courier.

http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/Poland/how_to_apply.html#temporary_documents

Or you may also have a VFS Global or VAC for Canada in your home country that will send the passport to Warsaw. That will work too.

I checked this option yesterday. But there are a lot of questions here.
1. VFS Global in Poland says that for international delivery "see table below". But there is no any table below and everywhere on the site with pricing.
2. I have to pay $100 to VFS global to handle my case, $88 to VFS globas to transit my passport to VO, pay about $100 to DHL to deliver my passport from my city to VFS global and at last pay to VFS global for a courier to deliver my passport back. So it's about $400. And 200 of them are useless in case if I could send via DHL directly to VO
3. I cannot use my local VFS global because I do not have one in my city and in nearest cities.
