Parents visitor visa...Biometrics and passport request... Urgent info required

I applied for parents visitor visa in India 2 days back and received a request for Biometrics today. It says that it has to be provided in 30 days. But the letter says that the application is still under processing. The VFS centre is far from our hometown. So i don't want them travel twice.. Once for Biometrics and once for submitting passport.

So has anyone who has gone through this recently in last few weeks provide what's the process? Do they keep the passport during the Biometrics itself?

Please let me know urgently as i need to book their tickets today

They can courier their passports if approved. Just travel once for biometrics.

Biometrics request is no guarantee that their visas will be approved. If you must book today, do so with refundable or rebookable fares, or be prepared to lose that money.

okies, thanks. I also got to know about option of giving the authority to someone else with a letter saying they will submit on your behalf. My father have their biometrics tomorrow.

How did you do the biometrics in India for Visitor Visa ? Right now are they accepting the biometrics for Visitor Visa ?
