Hi Dax45,

Parent visa closed until 2014-15 and no one know how they are going to open with new rules. You have to check it when they will re-open. And as I know you have to file 2 applications at that time. and for siblings it depends on their age and new changed rules.

And can they sponsor our (20+years old) siblings?
if yes, i hope they would be retained

Under the old rule, yes, you can file 2 separate applications at the same time as long as you meet the income requirements for all these people. But the sponsored parents can not sponsor 20+ year old children. Only if they are under 21 still in school and single. But by the time smb sponsor the parents under the old rules, the siblings reach the age, so it's very unlikely. But nobody knows what the future in sponsorship rules will be. Good luck.

Dependent children should still be included in their parents PR application, either as accompanying or not-accompanying. That means if you sponsor your parents, you also have to show enough funds for their dependent children.

Children are considered dependent if they are single and under 22 when the application is received or if they are over 22 but full time students and financially dependent on their parents. In the former case, their age is locked in so they do not have to be students even if the application takes years but they must stay single. In the latter case, they must remain full time students without a break and financially dependent on their parents in order to keep their dependent status.

If children are not considered dependent, they can only be sponsored later under certain provinces provincial nominee programs, for example if the parents settle in Manitoba or Saskatchewan. In that case, you may also sponsor your adult siblings as long as you live in one of those provinces and meet the requirements of the program. Another option to help adult siblings immigrate would be to use your connections to try to help them get a job offer so they can immigrate on their own.

New York consulate send a letter requsting passports on December 18th, which arrived on Dec 19th to my lawyer's office. Letter states that we should sent passports within 15 days. Since the office was closed the letter was only discovered today and it is now 16th day.
We will be sending a cover letter explaining wat happened. Do you guys think it will work?

thanxx kandel my file was at CPP-O when i got the medical request by e-mail which is done on oct 8,2012 after that i dont knw if it is still at CPP-O or it is being transfered to LVO's ....

90% of the time file stays where they send it first either cpp-o or lvo. I would say its still at cpp-o.

I filed my parents application in July 2009 and they asked me to send documents in June 2012 and I send on time.And I got letter in Sep,2012 that your file is completed.Now Today I got an email that my application is received back in July,2009.Does it mean that 2nd part of my application is going to process in Ottawa rather than new Delhi ??

Nothing to worry about, just explain your situation and send the documents. Won't cause any problems.

Have you already received sponsorship approval letter or email? Usually, you will get information about where the file is transferred within a month after sponsorship approval. No information about file transfer does not necessarily mean that it will processed at CPP-O. Which office sent you the email? Is it CPP-O or CPC-M? If it is from CPC-M then it means your file is not transferred yet.

Hello All,

HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone on this forum. I am visiting this forum after long time.

I see lot of positive update in many cases. Congraulation to all who have received visa.
My in-laws gave their medical test on December 8, 2012 and they have also submitted passport with required documents
last week. There is no update on e-cas for me.
