Does anyone know once the file is transferred to LVO (which is England in our case), will they ask for any documents requests along with PCC and medicals?

I want to prepare the documents, so we can save on time. Also, is it better to get the PCC ready or should I wait and request once I receive the request?

I believe they meant to say that they are working on 2006/07 and will be working on 2008/09 in about 6 months. It looked like they did reply to me specifically. It didn't look like generic reply. Here is what I rec'd:
"While we understand the sponsor is anxious to be reunited with the sponsored family member, the application is within posted processing times. There has been no undue delay in processing. This said, we endeavor to reduce the processing times and we are currently working on cases where the original application for sponsorship was submitted at CPC-M at the end of 2006 and in 2007. Therefore we expect to be reviewing this case within the next 6 months."
I don't know how does it works but one of my friend had applied in jan 2007 and her parents landed here in sep 2012.

hello everyone, here is my timeline.
ecas showed:
sponsorship applic. received March 2008
started processing applic. Aug.2013

In January 2012, I was approved as a sponsor and the file was sent to the Visa office of our country of origin. Additional docs, were requested of my parents at that time. Then Aug.2013 Medicals were requested and PR was granted January 2014.

Hi Memebers,
I have a question in regards to parental sponsorship. I applied in April 2010. Sponsorship was approved and file was transferred to New Delhi. Now Delhi office is asking for all the updated forms that were sent to mississauga and all the supporting documents to be sent again. They also requested medical and mentioned that I will be receiving medical instructions in separate email, which I never received. My question is if it is normal for them to ask for all the forms again even when the forms were sent to Mississauga office before the transfer to New Delhi? Also what should I do about not receiving the instructions for medical tests that they said they will send to me in a separate email? They asked for all the forms, police clearance and medical to be submitted in 60 days. Thank you in advance. please find the attached and comment:

In order to assess this application, updated copies of the items listed below are requested. Please note that if we do not receive the items listed below within 60 days of the date on this letter, this application may be refused.
• Application form (IMM008) for yourself
• A Schedule A form for you and one for each dependant over the age of 18, whether accompanying or not. Personal History information and Addresses must be entered from the age of 18 to date. Incomplete information will delay the processing of your application.
• An Additional Family Information form (IMM5406) for you and one for each dependant, whether accompanying or not. The correct forms are all available online at
• The documents listed in the attached Document Checklist for Family Class – Parents & Grandparents
• You and your family members who are included in this application must undergo complete medical examinations. You will receive a separate e-mail with instructions for medical examination for you and your dependants, whether accompanying or not. The issuance of medical instructions does not constitute final acceptance of your application.
Once you have completed your medical examination, submit your forms and items listed above, as a SINGLE package to our office at the following address:

For example, if all of the passport holder's names appear on the 'Surname' line of the passport, all of the names will appear on the 'Surname' line of the visa, with nothing shown for 'Given Names.' Hello,
I received an email from cic, which says my sponsorship application submitted in 2008 was received. I went in to chek ecas and a small change, it now shows application received under "permanent residence application status". Earlier it only showed application received under "sponsorship application status". My question is why would they say application received now, when they have already received it 6 years ago and I also received the AOR in 2014?

May be its technical error..bcoz the same happened with our case . our ecas only shows permanent residence status not the sponsorship status..

hello roop15,
The Visa office was in Mexico City. During the application, their website stated that the approx. processing time was 56 months but it actually took 67 months; from CIC receiving the application to granting PR.

I was aware that my application was caught up in the whole backlog situation for family sponsorships so I sort of forgot about it and hoped for the best.

hello Tp,
did you get two different UCI #?

I ask because I did. Once I was approved as a sponsor by CPC-Mississauga, they transferred by file to the Visa office and gave my parents their own UCI. I think their ecas showed updates as PR application status rather than sponsorship.

....basically, what I'm trying to say is that I learned that the parents sponsorship process has two steps:
- 1st to asses the sponsor (for which I had a UCI#, ecas shows sponsorship application)
- 2nd to assess the people being sponsored (a separate UCI#, ecas shows PR applic)

...so TP, I assume that your family must be in the final stage. Good luck!

I have a confusion that where the sponsored people check their status if it only shows the PR application... Becoz I have lot of confusion on this...than where the sponsored person can check their status whether they received medicals or started processing their application??

As mine status when I check with file number only shows the PR application and not the sponsorship status

Hi jbrown, I only have one uci so far. I am not even close to the final stage, my file has not yet been reviewed for sponsorship approval neither transferred to local visa office. I am assuming this minor change of ecas showing application received under permanent residence status means somebody finally touched my file at cic Mississauga. Hopefully from this onward I will get more frequent update on my file movement.

PCC's can be made within days. Wait until they ask.

Prepare all the updated forms such as IMM0008, Schedule 1, etc and have them ready.

Or,
If you want to be proactive, get new PCC, new photos, new forms, etc all filled up and send them to London office to update file.
Include a detailed letter mentioning what you're submitting for each person being sponsored. Courier it to them and have tracking info as evidence.

Hopefully London will be better than Islamabad with regards to processing and updating files

If not already done so:
Order GCMS notes for file (permanent residence, on behalf of Principal Applicant)... to see current status, any comments, etc

Also order GCMS notes for sponsorship file (for sponsor), to see what assessment they did, comments on file about sponsor's LICO, etc. Gives you a good idea of what file contains and what they did at CPC-Miss.

can you share their email add? they are working on 2006/07 cases what about 2008 cases? I think it would take more than 6 month.
Unfortunately Islamabad applicants are stuck in waiting line forever.
Good thing about LVO is that it's fully staffed and processing files and not disturbed by any local issues.
Hopefully they can speed up.

We also do not know how many files were transferred to LVO and how many files are still in Isb.
CIC is not so transparent in these things.

CHC-Islamabad deserves to have an internal audit to reveal the issues, the last one they had was more than a decade ago

Can anyone provide some highlights of how to new sponsorship works. I was told by a friend of mine that it is lot harder and only few applications every year... But he didn't know exactly what requirements are.
