Its my assumption that after getting background checks done, the file needs to be reviewed by the VO (File pending review) for PPR Issuance..
Reply on 23 Nov to my CSI was, "file is currently undergoing routine background checks"

By the way my VO officer is NMP and what I have noticed is that every time I have sent CSI he gives the same one liner generic reply BACKGROUND CHECKS OUTSTANDING.

Any ways may ALLAH help us all.. ameen..

Dear Senior Fellows

My Immigrant visa is valid until 5th May,2013. Me and my whole family will be landing on 11th Jan.2013 at Canada (Vancouver) for the first time. My Pakistani passports will be expiring on 23rd May, 2013. Can I renew the passport from Pakistan now and then leave for Canada or its not wise to do it now. Some one told me that your passport with Immigrant visa should not be cancelled until you land there.
Today,I visited the Passport office at home station, they told me that we can issue you an urgent passport in ten to 15 days and will not cancel this old passport. They will stamp it & I will attach it with the new one. So please advice what should i do. What is law ( passport applicable) for landing.?

Never ever do that. If you renew your passport you might get some troubles. You should renew your passport from Canada when you need to return to Pakistan. As long as you stay in Canada and have your PR you won't need pakistani passport

Maximum time is 15 days. Normally they reply in 2-3 days and sometime even within minutes. Write your visa officer initials and file no and name in subject for a quicker reply

I received PPR1 on 16.11.12 and DM on 19th. No PPR2 yet :'(

Does this means your B/G checks are over or it is one of their delaying tactics thing? I hope this is not the second case...
