Overstay issue in Europe

Hell everyone I am new on this fourm and was a silent followers and in next month my wife is going back to canada and sponsor me
My question is that I was overstayed in italy and Spain for about 4 years and unable to legalize there didi I have to mention this overstay period in my travel history and it is going to affect my case or dont???
Really worried about this plz guide me

If you don't mention it it will result in you (and your wife) dealing with misrepresentation. That can result in you being banned from Canada (or having your PR or citizenship revoked at alater date) and your wife having her PR revoked. You could also face criminal charges and jail time for lying. Best to be honest.
Telling them may add some extra scrutiny or time to the application process, but far less of a risk than not telling them.

Off course, have to mention it else be ready to face misrepresentation and face legal action.

Thanks for your reply I will get clearance certificate from both countries and show them my record

I don't think you need to mention that you been there iligally just tell them that the period of time you been in both countries, mention the exact date or month you entered the country and left the countries. And definitely have police clearance certificate from both place.

they will find out easily, don't risk mispresentation. It would result in a 5-year - ban,you need to disclose it all.
