So,you mean, you printed the digital forms like 5406&5669 and uploaded again?
Have you received any update regarding your online application?

And one more question, how did you uploaded your wedding photos? One by one or in a word file?
We printed any form that wasn't filled out directly on the website and had a spot for a signature. i can't remember the form #s exactly. If they were a fill in form with no place for a signature we just uploaded directly, no printing.

We only applied in Dec. 2021 so likely won't get AOR1 until March as the current timeline is ~100 days.

We cut and pasted the photos into a Word doc and then added the necessary details underneath each photo to give context then we saved it as a PDF and uploaded it to the portal. Keep in mind the max is 20 photos to be selective and ensure the photos span your entire relationship. Also include photos of you two with other people in the photo as it lends to the publicness of your relationship if you can. List the names of others in your photos as well (assuming there aren't 40+ people in it).

Can upload new documents post AOR ?

Context: I am thinking if I should resubmit my application with additional documents or wait for AOR on original application since initial application has missing documents
You need AOR1 to get the application # to be able to add documents to your file. If you used the portal your app is inaccessible to upload any additional docs until they begin working on it.

If you have already applied, do not apply again just because you want to add something. Wait until AOR1 and your app# and then you will be able to upload additional docs to your existing app.

It also depends on what docs are missing. If they are vital for the officer to even start your file it will likely be rejected and you will receive an email saying you're missing docs and will need to re-apply.

The key signatures are considered vital and high likelihood will be sent back - but after some months (and with no AOR).

You can submit additional or revised docs before AOR. There is a possibility it will not be linked to the right file, so important to identify sponsor and applicant sufficiently. And then hope.

So I would say no, do NOT wait if the signatures are the mistake. Fix the problem and submit the additional docs (ie signed copies) via webform. This is far better than waiting 2 or 3 months to get it returned and starting over.

Missing signatures ARE a reason for it to be returned.

(Only note is that I do not know if possible to withdraw a just submitted online app. If that's possible could make sense to withdraw and submit entire new package. But I repeat, no idea whether that is possible )

Hey All,

I got a question for all the members who have already submitted their application online, hopefully you can provide me some guidance.

I am debating on uploading supporting documents individually under provided categories or combining them in pdfs called for ex.

Sponsor's Last Name – First Name – Supporting Documents.pdf (PR Card, Proof of employment and recent NOA)
Principal App's Last Name – First Name – Identity Documents.pdf (Passport, Birth certificate, ID card)
Principal App's Last Name – First Name – Civil Status Documents.pdf (Original marriage certificate, translated marriage certificate)
Principal App's Last Name – First Name – Police Certificate.pdf (2 Police certificates)

and labeling every document properly inside each pdf. Also, thinking of adding a cover document called Supporting Documents for the sponsored person.pdf explaining under which pdf file can each document could be found under.

Has anybody tried it that way? Does it seems like good idea at all?...THOUGHTS?!? I realize online application are fairly new, so we may not have enough examples of this yet; but I thought I'd ask here any way.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

So what are you gaining by combining pdfs like this instead of leaving each document in a separate pdf?

Thank you, more context in next post

Thank you. I am not sure if it is Vital but basically my dependent child was born in the US because we had better coverage there and it was bit complicated pregnancy.

We returned to Canada with child being on Visitor Record and applied for Dependent Child sponsorship (online) - 4 days post his birth. I uploaded same "proof of birth documents" which we showed at the border + visitor record with my child's UCI.

1 month later is when we received actual birth certificate + US passport which is what I want to add now.

I considered submitting signed docs via webform but saw many comments about how they cannot connect submissions to an existing app before your app is assigned a case number. I figured it would be pointless to try, but maybe it's worth it.

I looked all over to see if there was a way to withdraw a just-submitted online app and found no way to do this. Again, it may be possible to submit a withdrawal request via webform, but it appears there is no way for a user to manually withdraw an application.

You've got nothing to lose by submitting signed docs via Webform. Do it even if there is a low chance it would get linked to your application. Keep screenshots of the Webform submission for future reference.

I went ahead and submitted signed 1344 and 5532 forms via the webform, and I will give an update here if/when I hear something back. Like you said, nothing to lose. Fingers crossed!

Hope that works out for you. In our case (missing signatures), we just withdrew the application and will reapply shortly after.

On another note, has anyone actually tried digitally signing the forms (I know the pdfs are protected, but I found a way to "print" it as a normal PDF and affix my digital signature)?

Hi guys i have a question. Has anyone applied a spouse work permit the same time when you submit the sponsership application? I know you will need a case number to apply for work permit so does this mean you need to wait for AOR to submit the application?
