Hi, I'm Japanese and had been in USA for almost 10 years as a student and a worker, and two years ago, I went to Indonesia for marriage and stayed there for 7monthes. However it was very hard to live there and my husband ( Indonesian) and I came back to USA (with tourists visa- 3month for me (passport only-pilot program) and 6 month for him (B2)) and we have a baby now---(american)---

So we are out of status now with an american baby...and
we would like to legalize our status....it's very hard to do that here in
USA, so we are thinkinhg to apply Canadian citizenship since I have
almost more than 70 score for skilled worker...

Then we have a problem about where to apply...
For Buffalo, we have to be legal here at USA...
Then for Japanese it's in Manila (Phillippine) but for Indonesian
it's in Singapore... And what about if there is an interview?
we cannot come back to USA after that... or is it very fast to
get permission after Intterview? Should we apply there from USA and
after the intervies we stay in Indonesia for a couple of monthes to
wait?? I dont know how to plan this thing effectively...

I hope we dont have to go anywhere until we move to Canada...

oh, but where is the police report should be from??
We have been here at USA a year since we are back from
Indonesia but if we ask police here, are they going to deport us????

Does anybody help me about all these headache questions???

i believe you need legal residence status wherever you apply from then you need to stay there until it's completed, if you try hopping around you can lose it all - some people were excluded permanently because they couldn't attend the interview which was at a previous country etc; if you're not an american citizen and don't have an american passport, what passport do you hold? that country has to accept you, is probably easier to become a resident and prove your residency, and if you apply from there (assuming it's Japan) you'll have a better chance; however, i'm a newbie so check with more experienced people; sounds like you have a lot of things to decide about where you want to live before you plan your emigration process
good luck

Thank you for replying me!
Ok, then it seems like I have to stay in somewhere for
maybe at least a year as a legal residence??
yes, the comlicated thing is that our family...we are all in
different nationality--Maybe we all can move to Japan but
it's very hard to support ourselves since he is not Japanese
and not speaking Japanese. We can also go to Indonesia
but then it will be very dangerous for baby;s health
and also it's very hard to make a money.

well...then we are stuck here... or maybe
we really have to go through some difficulty to
grab this canadian citizenship...for future...
I mean..stay in Japan or Indonesia for a couple of years.

Or do you think if I find a job in Canada now,
I can move there with all the family?
And apply citizenship inside country?

It's better move one time and adopt once...
rather than moving all around with 3 of us...
If it's only me ..maybe it could be different huh?...sign...

hi, you're welcome and i agree, better for everyone if you move once and all together if you can; but as i said i'm not very knowledgeable about this process, so better check with experts on your situation; yes it sounds complicated but i'm sure someone who understands this immigration process better than i do can quickly tell you which option is best for you

best of luck, sorry i couldn't be more helpful
