open work permit

Hi, I am a foreign worker in Canada. I met my wife in Canada. She is citizen. My work permit expires soon and I have applied an open work permit online on Oct 16, 2013. since then, I have not received anything yet. Does anyone have same/similar situation ?

My wife sponsored me to be a permanent resident here. The processing time kinda delays to 11 months, which means we may get something on March next year. However, my current work permit expires before that.
