I landed in Canada last month & in online status, left hand side only "Toronto, Canada" is displaying while on right hand side my mailing address of India is showing.

My question is, should I modify Canada's address (which is on left side) to the full/exact address or should I keep it unchanged?
@ Chintan_155,

I had same kind of online status after landing in Canada. I updated ( Residential ) address on the left to full/exact address in Canada. I also updated the mailing address to a Canadian Address, so its up to you which address you want to keep on your file.

Thank you lawrence2007 for valuable information.

For application process time for PNP from CHC London is 27 months. Is this process time start from the date when the application is received by CIC or from the date of process at Visa Office?

you are welcome dear brother. strictly speaking, the displayed processing times are calculated from the day CIC receives the application. nevertheless, we have all spent so many years looking at these indicative processing times and they have turned out to be a moving target. processing times for us Pakistanis are bound to be longer than the average because of additional document requirements/background checks etc etc. the only thing we can do is remain hopeful. at the sametime, we should take things as they come without putting off any major life decision thinking that we would be moving to Canada anytime soon. i think it will give you some clarity on the timelines of Pakistan-based applicants if you look at the forum 'Any one from Pakistan apply to London office as Provincial Nominee'. best of luck.

Hi Hadeel;

if you are on OWP - you can not get OHIP until you are offered a job. till then you'd have to survive without OHIP.

Breaking NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All OWP candidates (including their dependents) are eligible for OHIP coverage and 90 days waiting period will starts from date of landing, not from the date of employment. In other words even we can have OHIP coverage without having job (but after 90 days of waiting period).

In mid Aug I landed in Canada on OWP (with my family), I went to service Ontario to register for OHIP, but they refused to register because I came on OWP and for all work permit candidates, we should have full time job (etc etc).

As per one of eligibility criteria, if we are accepted for PR application and application is progress, then we should eligible for OHIP. I requested them to consider in this criteria, however they refused to consider this criteria for us, because in CIO's email confirmation PR eligibility was not mentioned clearly and secondly it was in form of email so they were also not accepting email communication. Then I reached CIO to provide PR eligibility confirmation in writing, they reverted with the comments that we had already given in form of email and its hold good, moreover your case is forwarded to respective Visa office (Abu Dhabi), so contact them for further assistance. Then I contacted Abu Dhabi VO, they also responded with same response, that CIO email is enough. Then again I went back to Service Ontario with both communications (CIO & Abu Dhabi), then again they refused to accept these evidences for PR eligibility. This time I requested them to give me in writing (in form denial request), through which we can appeal to Ministry of Health to review our case.

In between someone asked to contact MPP to sort this issue, I reached them and they further contacted Ministry of Health to evaluate my eligibility criteria. Later Ministry contacted me and took consent form from me to get PR application status directly from Immigration department, by the grace of Allah, today I get letter from them in which they mentioned about my OHIP eligibility confirmation.

In nut shell, if you go to Service Ontario for OHIP registration they will definitely refuse to register for OHIP, so what you should do, get denial request form from them and then reach to Ministry of Health with your details. They will definitely review & will give you eligibility confirmation.
Below is a contact detail of Ministry of Health department, who reviews eligibility for OHIP converges.

http://www.infogo.gov.on.ca/infogo/office.do?actionType=telephonedirectory&infoType=telephone&unitId=UNT0032147&locale=en

Hope this thread will be helpful for most of us.
Hi Hadeel1234 , zizu

Sorry for late response, I was busy and not following this forum since few weeks.

I have posted information how to get the OHIP coverage on OWP, you may follow above steps, I have followed it and by the grace of God received medical cards and now availing health benefits.

However in between one of forum member did approach Ministry of Health, they further contacted Visa office to get the PR status, but as his application was in "Application Received" and not changed to "In progress", therefore Visa office didn't acknowledge his PR status, hence ministry decline their request. I don't know what happened after that, if he is reading this thread then can comment on it.

I think in such case, CIO should help to confirm PR eligibility. Anyways if things are not moving, then don't wait and contact your local MPP office (you can search on Google based on your Postal code), I am confident they will definitely help in this situation.

Best of Luck.....

When did you approach service Ontario? After 90 days of landing or before that?
And
When did you approach local MP office? After 90 days of landing or before that?

@ chintan_155

As mentioned by some people in this thread that either you need a Permanent Job in Canada to get OHIP or the other tedious rote of approaching local MP . So I approached this permanent job path to get OHIP in Canada .
Regarding RPRF. Send an e-mail to NDVo or Srilanka Visa office ( where ever your file is getting processed ) and update them that you have landed here and send them your OWP Medical Acknowledgment/ Fess Receipts so that they can use that information for updating your PR file with Medical Info from your OWP file.

You can approach Service Ontario any time when you are eligible to apply for OHIP. They will give you coverage start date as per your eligibility date. In my case they gave me OHIP coverage date by counting 90 days from the first day of my employment start date in Canada. So for me it was more than 90 days from 1st day of landing in Canada on OWP.

I will say if u do not have Permanent job offer then its better to approach Service Ontario asap, if they deny you OHIP without Permanent job offer then you can try Local MP office route if that works out for you. If nothing works out then u need to find Permanent job and then apply for OHIP, if u foresee any medical issues popping up or to be on safer side its better to avail private medical insurance for the time u do not have OHIP coverage in place.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/notices/notice-returns.asp

if you have send this and its already more than 6 months no point in sending a reminder to them. I send couple of followup emails for refund but no response.. mine is already more that 8 months now for refund too
