Hello,

I sponsored my wife's application (She is a US citizen) for her permanent residence back in October. Her Application went to the Ottawa office. This is what ecas shows:

1.We received xxx's application for permanent residence on October 7, 2013.

2.Medical results have been received.

ecas status: Application received

Is it unusual that my wife's status has not changed to "In Process"? We sent a complete application which included the medical results, police certificates, and receipts to all pertinent fees.

Also, is it likely that my wife will be asked to redo her medical exams? The results are just over a year old now.

I appreciate anyone's response and advice.

Thanks

It is definitely not unusual for it to never go to in process. It will most likely just go to decision made.mif they want any more info from you (including new medical) they will contact you via email. I know it's hard not to stress out, but hopefully you will have some sort of news soon :) October applicants seem to be doing very well so far! Also check out the Ottawa group.

Hope that helps a little :)

We are in the same boat, a few weeks later (Oct 31st) but still just at the application received stage. It is frustrating but it seems as though the Oct applicants are starting to make progress. The CPP-Ottawa board has a spread sheet you might find helpful

That doesn't sound unusual. My app was sent in mid-October, I didn't hear anything until mid-April when they asked for a copy of my passport. After submitting my passport, my application went from "Application Received" to "Decision Made" around May 1.

I went on my daily routine of checking e-cas yesterday, and guess what? I saw the two words: DECISION MADE! Wow (I had to log back in to make sure its real Cheesy) I am so happy and relieved...To all those waiting, hang there, you will eventually get approved and all frustration will go away.

I got some good news and some bad news yesterday.

Good news - I heard from Manila and I think they started on our application

Bad news - they are requesting more information. They need proof that I will reside in Canada. When I applied I was living in Korea but now I have moved to Canada. The VO says they are not satisfied that I will reside in Canada. So...now I gotta get the documents to send. Hopefully not long of a delay.

crazy though because I was already approved as a sponsor so it doesnt make sense why they need me to send more info to support I will live in Canada.

That is the requirement that you both signed that both will establish to live in Canada. Being APPROVED as sponsored doesn't end there.

We were also requested to send additional documents as proof that the sponsor was living in Canada. This was requested in January 2014 and we haven't heard anything since. We sent tenancy contract, car purchase and insurance documents, company letter where he is working, pay slips for 12 weeks and his passport copy to show that he hasn't traveled out of Canada since we filed the application.

My visa is now under process for the last month and I hope it is on its way soon.

Same here. We were also requested proof of residency. Paystubs, driver license, and utility bills were good enough. Got COPR yesterday! :D
