From what I am seeing, the Montreal and the Toronto offices are starting to move really fast, and these are usually the most crowded offices, and that's also where most of the backlog is located. Toronto seems to be faster than Montreal, but Montreal is catching up slowly but surely. We will see in the coming weeks what will happen. Honestly, I don't think that this trend will continue forever, it surely costs too much and requires a lot of personnel, that's why I think that they are spending more money in order to clear the biggest part of the backlog and to take care of as many applications as possible before they table the new law. This also makes me come to the conclusion that the changes in the new law are going to be drastic. Nothing happens without a reason and CIC is surely trying to limit the consequences of having too many potential unhappy people ready to attack in case a very controverial bill is tabled. 350 000 potential protestors, that's way too much for the conservative government to digest before the coming elections! Also, if 10% of those who are in the backlog decide to file a lawsuit, again, that's a lot of problems that Harper would love to avoid before the coming elections. That's my not too wild guess....
I could not find much info about the speed at Vancouver, where mine is!

No idea, but funny things happen and you get to be happy with them when they are good for you :)
How did you know that Vancouver is faster? and when do you expect the test to take place for October applicants?!

Someone in the November 2013 thread has already received his test notification. What made his file be processed faster than anyone else is that he had sent all the supporting documents such as employment history, CBSA report, History of exit and entry from home country " some people were saying this would raise flags but from Rohit234 experience, it actually doesn't and it seems that it speeds up the process.

I had my CBSA report, exit and entry report from my home country, tax returns, T4 etc. and was reluctant to send them along with my application but I was definitely wrong

hope future applicants learn from Rohit234 experience..

thanks

Mrbravo, what you are saying is dangerous. You don't know what made the file get processed faster, some people sent all their documents and yet got RQ, call Center and CIC officials always recommend not to send more than what is requested.

Rohit234 is from Toronto and some toronto offices are known for their speed, and probably what is happening is that they are getting faster day by day, however, Rohit234 still has the exam on the 26th of february which is in a Month, after giving it a thought, I 've seen some other people on the forum having the exam in the same range of time, she is just informed about it 2 weeks earlier than the others.

All this to say that we can recommend things to people, but some recommendations can be dangerous to play with! Especially that it is clear that CIC doesn't want to receive more documents for now!

Lol :) Citizenship and Immigration Canada is recruiting ! In the job description they say :

Other Conditions of Employment
Ability to lift and move boxes with a maximum weight of 12.5 kilograms*.
*This is a condition of employment for some positions.

Are they finally taking care of the huge boxes of RQ Jason Kenney created ? ;)

General Support Clerk : https://emploisfp-psjobs.cfp-psc.gc.ca/psrs-srfp/applicant/page1800?toggleLanguage=en&noBackBtn=true&poster=222716&psrsMode=1

I feel like applying just to understand how they function :) But the job description is interesting, it can help us to understand what are the limits of the people we talk to or who take care of our files.

They are also opening positions for the Montreal call center.

On a serious note now: any wild estimations as to when October 2013 applicants are likely going to get test notices?? Looking forward to have this whole process finally get done!

Tough to give one timeline for this question because it all depends on your Case Processing CIC Center. Since, we have applicants from all over the Province/various Cities, it will be a different timeline for all and there could be significant differences as well.

Some might have it during summer of 2014, some fall of 2014 and some winter 2015.

I would suggest that you read threads from your City and that would give you a better understanding...

Thanks. My 2-cents.

I do not think this is a RQ. It happened to many people on other threads. basically, there is an information missing in the application such as address or title of work etc.
