Dear members, hope you’re doing well!

Just have a question about required documents, considering this sentence:

“Provide photocopies of the biographical pages of all passports and/or travel documents (valid and cancelled) for the six (6) year period immediately before the date of your application, or since you became a permanent resident, whichever is more recent.

Also, provide photocopies of any renewal pages of the passport(s)/travel document(s). “

I gonna send my application on Oct. 12. I landed on February 2014 and after this date till present held only one passport (the same that I entered with) that is still valid and will be expired on April 2018.

I’m wondering if I’m required to send the photocopy of my previous passport?

This is just my two cents.

Based on the quote you provided, "no" it would not be required.

HOWEVER, personally I am expecting this instruction to change, and here's why. Since the new rules will allow days prior to becoming PR to count for half a day (up to a maximum of one year), I am expecting them to remove the "or since you became a permanent resident" clause. It could be a "since you entered Canada clause", but we'll see. I am also expecting them to change the "six (6) year period" to a "five (5) year period" to reflect the new 3 out of 5 years requirement which is replacing the current 4 out 6 year requirement.

IF this happens, then it depends on whether your current passport was issued prior to Oct. 12, 2012 or not (which will be the five year period immediately prior to the date of your application).

Serious question, is it legally permissible to apply on the 11th?

The current signature page says to ensure you were eligible the day BEFORE signing the application. This would generally refer to being eligible per current requirements, but as the requirements were different the day before, does that matter?
I think you have brought up a very important point. I would say your logic is correct, in that the requirements were indeed different the day before. So, "yes" that would matter. Wait until the 12th. It's legally permissible for those who were also eligible on October the 10th.

May I ask what the cover letter is for? It's not required
The OP will need to submit TWO applications for citizenship, one for the husband and one for the wife. Two applications, two receipts, two envelopes, one for each individual.

Hi,
I apply for my 12 years old son. Please help me with "Two (2) pieces of the child’s personal identification
Both pieces of identification should show your child’s name and date of birth, one of which must have a photo on it". What should I apply since his health card, school report card,.. don't have his photo on it?
Thank you very much for your help

Hah, you have the opposite issue I have. Our flight landed at like 11:40PMish. My passport was stamped for the 13th but my CoPR and PR card show 14th. When I went to get my SIN this caused them enough confusion that they had to ask a supervisor what to put in the system.
So what date did they put in the system? I think that the date showed on PRC would be the official date..

CIC's website is getting absolutely swamped right now. If that's not an indication of an incoming flood of applicants I don't know what is...

Oh well...such is life.

I am wondering if anyone else is facing the same problem. The Main Application CIT0002E (10-2017) is locked. So you are allowed to fill it out on the computer but you can't print it, which is absurd because the application needs to be sent in physically.

Any one facing the same problem ?

If you have a PDF editor it should work.

Now I am submitting the application! I included a letter for some unambiguous parts, such as 9b and 11 for me.. I hope this will help :)
