I'm an architect and it seems that I am eligible to apply under the skilled class. There seems to be a confusion regarding the application though.
The web site says that all the documents are to be sent to the sydney office. and there is a checklist for the same. This check list requires only the forms to be filled, the IELTS score. However in this list and in the web site it says to have additional documents required by the regional immigration office. and those documents include a more comprehensive list like the police clearance, transcripts etc.. now my regional immigration office is londin. So should I first apply to sydney with just the basic documents or should I include all the documents including whats required by the london office also and mail it to sydney?

leomax: You have to use both checklists, the one for CIO and the one for your visa office to determine what you have to send. The application guide at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/EG7.pdf says on page 17 that if you do not submit a complete application with all documents, it will be returned to you.

See No 9. Why are you eliminating the simplified application?

Since we changed to the simplified application we’ve noticed a significantly higher number of applicants withdraw when asked for their supporting documents, or full application. By eliminating the simplified application and asking for all the documentation at once, we will make processing more efficient. Eliminating the simplified application shaves 120 days off the total processing time, because this is the time we allowed applicants to send in their supporting documents.

Thanks all for your input. So I am just going get all the documents from both the lists and send it to the Sydney office. By the way I had contacted the canadian embassy to clarify the same and heres the reply I got. Just thought might share it with y'all.

You should follow the Sydney checklist first and that checklist's specifications about original documents or copies.. If there are visa office specific instructions that you have not met, we will advise you in due course. Police certificates always/always must be originals.

Thank you the clarification. Let me however rephrase the question.
Do I have to submit all the documents in original as required by the visa office specific to the country of residence along with the application to Sydney? They both have different checklists.
There is a lot of ambiguity on the instructions.

Thanks again!

You can include the police clearances if you have them when you apply to Sydney. If you don't have them, you can supply them at a later date. The absence of a police certificate would not be a reason for Sydney to reject your application.

Subject: clarification.

Dear sir,
As per the new rules valid since 26 june 2010, all application under the skilled immigration class had to be sent to the CIO at Sydney. Under the application form checklist IMM 5612E there,s a list of documents required.
However item number 12 in the checklist and references at other places in the website does not make it clear as to whether the additional documents ( Visa office specific document checklist for the visa office that serves the country of residence) that include the police clearance etc.. should be sent along with this application to the Sydney office or to the visa office specific to the country of residence at a later stage.

I would really appreciate a clarification on this matter.

Thank you in advance.
