u Manitoba its good news for you .If it shows in progress means it might be completed .You might receive ur ppr in 2 months. I called cic number of times . They said my file is in Ottawa permanent residence waiting for final review .Everything is passed . Did call mp and they said they will follow up again . The person who works in mP OFFICE TOLD ME your file might be in queue for final review by senior immigration officer . Ddoes everyone files get reviewed by senior immigration officer ???? .I am so concerned

Hi amaan, may I know what it is said in your cic? Is it " passed" in the BG section and "in progress" in the DM section.
Or both of them are " in progress"?

hi alex both shows in progress .But I started calling since January end I guess .Whenever I called cic agent every single agent told me everything is passed waiting for final review which was confirmed by MP as well .It will only show u passed a day before u get decision made or the same day which happened in case of my friend .

After 16 months today my background changed to in progress! I heard that they send the applications to CSIS on 5th of each months and today is exactly April 5th. A long wait time has started and hopefully I get something in 4 months!

In which month you applied AINP fedral??

My BG changed to in progress on Jan 13. But maybe yours could be done fast.

I hope his will be done fast.

My BG changed to in progress on 13 Jan. as well. I called CIC yesterday and the agent put me on hold to check the status. After the hold she had an anxious voice and said it is still in progress. I asked if I have to wait for another 12 months or more, she said it is case by case and she doesn't know. Then I asked if I should apply for BOWP as my current PGWP is expiring in 2 months. She said yes, go ahead and renew that. If my interpretation of her responses are accurate, in my case, I guess after BG changed in to progress, there will be at least 5 months of wait time before the security check/DM is done.

I hope for others it will be shorter and quick!

Background status of my spouse.i asked him how long it will take to make decisions and
He told that we Ar not able to tell the time frame ..
I am November 22 2015 applicant..should I talk to them again ? Or

Hi I add on my spouse application in July 2016 .
After tht I didn't anything from cic till 23 jan 2017 ..asking for additional docs
Till than waiting ..

Mine too! did you apply in December or you got the AOR on Dec. 21?

It means that they have started your background check and you should hear something between 4-6 months from now!

2/11/2016 Med Request
17/11/2016 Med done
30/11/2016 Med pass

I didn't expect another 4-6 months to wait, I thought the total timeframe is supposed to be 16 months. Jesus.

I did not get that.

I did medical in Nov 2016 and received CV request in March 2017. Many people are waiting now for more than 16 months!

Hi, some people from our Nov-Dec 2015 batch got request for their Resume and publication list. I think it is part of the background check.

I added in Oct 2016.
what kind of documents they requested??
I did talk to MP as well.
