This seems like the better approach.

Checking "no" probably works but if the applicant lived abroad at all during the preceding five years, "no" is contrary to the facts. Any suggestion to respond contrary to the facts always makes me wince. Even if reporting indicates there is no problem.

Hopefully this will be one of the items fixed in a new version of the application . . . coming soon?????
This is exactly what I did. You cannot respond "No" if the answer is, in fact, "Yes". A suitable LOE was attached to the irrelevant form, which was appropriately signed and dated but with both sections marked as N/A.

My question is the guide Discover Canada of October is it recent or there is another version
They mail it to me from Toronto in the beginning of October

I sent 9c with NO going by instruction guide for 9c. We have been out of Canada plenty.

I know it is risky, but still did it - their instruction guide for 9c guided to NO.

God Bless us and hopefully IRCC too!!

Urgent help ,

hello all

I am finishing my citizenship application and I have a question about eligibility period. In Application form @ 9(a) it asks to use a Physical calculator to get dates and on physical calculator it gives eligibility 5 years from now.

So when in question 9 C it asks During your eligibility period did you live outside of Canada do I need to say yes or no if we consider eligibility period 5 years from now which is 2012 nov and I got my PR in nov 2013 and landed Dec 2013 never visited outside from Canada more than 10 days. Also, Do I also need to add my Back home address in question 10 (a) as Eligibility period covers till Nov 2012

Also one more question “Where were you Physically located? “ I was working as a Contractor for a consulting company, which provides services for its clients.

Should I mention the location of client where I was physically present for 4 weeks or the location of my Consulting company ( Recruiter) ?

Please help me to complete my application.

@mama800

Q: Did any of you include employment letter, proof of physical address e.g rental agreement etc...
A: You don't need to attach any document like Employment Letter and proof of physical address AT THIS TIME.

Q: Do i need to include these to backup my application
A: YES, It is better to prepare yourself in advance.
thanks :)

I am too confused about my one of the address, i didnt changed its address over my drivers license and it was no lease apartment? Should I include that on my address history, everyone on this forum has adviced me to report that because i lived on that. what should i do? I am thinking i should report the address because its better to be transparent.

I also mark with NO, same as you. Guided by IRCC representative over the phone.
Talk 2 times, both are females.
I had selected Yes but then reading the instruction I changed it to No - but since I was out of Canada for more than 180 days in my home country for last 4 years I attached the Police clearance and explained that in the subsequent question asked on being out of Canada.

I think 9C specifically implies to folks who would like to consider their out of Canada days as part of eligible days towards the 1095 days. Again, stranger interpretations have happened earlier. We will see..I am just excited the process had begun for me.
