Hi All

I sent in my application in November 2017 and it was received by CIC on Nov 20th but the processing started from Jan 26th .......The current status shows:

1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on November 20, 2017.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on January 12, 2018.
3. We started processing your application on January 26, 2018.

Questions:
1. Does anyone know why there is this much gap between receiving and processing of the application? Is someone's situation matching with that of mine?

2. When do you think I can expect the test invite?

Today I contacted CIC, the agent replied that your application has been completed sofar but we are still waiting for your background check.

Congrats to everyone who got the oath and test invites recently. Looks like the November spreadsheet is gonna be like October, all Scarborough applicants clustered and pushed to the down of the list. Unless they conduct a mass ceremony. Let's see.

I'm IP since 14 Feb as well, but my brother was IP on 4-Feb and he had his citizenship test and interview in Surrey on 23-May-2018. He didn't travel overseas and only 2-3 weekend trip in the USA. I however travelled a lot to USA (probably 20+ trips), Europe and Pakistan. Maybe that is the reason? I don't know

My mom did not travel to anywhere outside Canada, but still haven't heard anything from the citizenship office since Feb 14.

She is getting there, Surrey IRCC is issuing test invitations to applicants who became IP in Feb.

I know, but as compared with others whose apps were submitted and received behind my mom's app date of receipt have already taken their oath.

Everybody case is different, I am in process since January and u will see some pple who submitted b4 ur mom app from same location still hear from them

This is some positive news. What number did you called on?

Also how do we find out what our processing centre is?
