November 30, 2012: application received in Mississauga.
Spousal sponsorship, living outside of Canada.

We have not heard anything about our application! please help!

Call CIC!! After multiple calls we finally were advised about 30 minutes ago that my husband was approved as sponsor on Feb 28 - THANK GOODNESS!! So, Ms Malawi can you please update me in the spreadsheet? I am currently dancing around the office with joy that our application wasn't lost or forgotten about somewhere! In the thread link I posted above, someone was told their application was lost, which prompted me to call my husband and order (in a nice way!) that he call CIC again and sort this out!

Canadianna, if you haven't called CIC already, definitely do so. You might need to call a few times until you get an agent who is willing to help. If no joy there, I'd recommend asking your local MP for help. Ours was approved the day after I contacted the MP's office (even though they seemed reluctant to help, it may have helped get things moving).

BrazilianGirl - your approval is coming soon too, I can feel it! Hang in there!!

I would call for sure! The first time I called around January they said to wait until the "currently processing" date changes (it was at nov 20 and i had submitted my app on the 27th). Once it was changed to Jan 29th, I called again and they said that my file was opened, but for some reason they didn't finish processing it :/ So I called them again the next week to find out what was happening and they said I'll get an email in the next few days and I finally got my Sponsor Approval via email.

Thank Goodness!!! Funny enough, I was thinking about you the whole time, wishing yours would get approved as well!
Now we are here having a beer to celebrate!!! =D

No, you are not the only one....I am still waiting to hear something positive. I can not believe it is taking this long. I think our files have been sent to Ottawa office for processing, and therefore such a long wait. Oh well, what can we do about it??

By the way, sent an e-mail to local MP last week as someone recommended....and nothing, not even acknowledgement of my e-mail!! I think I am just gonna sit tight and wait till the miracle happens

I've sent e-mail and called, but nothing yet!
I'm going insane!
At least my hubby is here. We are trying to find a way for me to go back to Canada with him. The problem is that before applying for Sponsorship, I applied for Student Visa, which was denied... Would it be any problem for us?

Well, someone here posted an e-mail you may be able to reach them:

"If you applied before the date on the processing times page, you can inform CPC-Mississauga by choosing one of the links below. Please include the Sponsor's name, date of birth, and UCI Number or Application Number if known in all correspondence. You will not receive a reply to questions or enquiries about other topics."

And Ms Malawi gave me this number, which was very helpful! If it wasn't for this number, I'd never know my Sponsorship had been approved.

Here is one number I have come across :
+1-613-944-4000 then press 1, for English, then press 2, then you'll get switched to CIC call center, then press 1, for English again, then press 2, then 3 for Sponsorship, then your UCI (Unique Client ID), I believe the applicant's date of birth and you'll finally be connected to an agent!!! If it doesn't work I know there is a lot of talk about calling on this thread earlier! The waiting time yesterday was about 30 mins. But totally worth it!
I'm so happy that I got Skype subscription to call unlimited to Canada!

This is perfectly normal...ECAS is very slowwwwwwwwwww at updating. My wife had her visa in hand and the site still said, "in progress"...two days after recieving her visa the site changed to "decision made"

I was advised by my friend who used to work for an MP (and is now a lawyer) to go in and talk to someone directly. I called my local MP and made an appointment. Things were very quick after that. Maybe try that?

I was approved as sponsor on feb 17, a week or two apart from you guys, so our timing is close any news from the respective visa office?
