Hello Citizenship experts,

I am a silent observer of this forum ever since I applied for citizenship in April 2014 and really appreciate the feedback provided by some very knowledgeable members. My application was received on April 07, 2014. I need your expert opinion for an issue that is troubling me. I have to apply for UK visa this week in an emergency. For normal cases they take around 3 weeks and they will keep the passport with them for that duration. I have noticed in the forum that end of March applicants have started to get invitation letters. I am worried if I submit my passports and in the meanwhile get invitation with a short time to write the test. If I don't apply for visa I'll loose $283 but if couldn't write the exam due to unavailability of passports, that can lead to RQ and waiting for another year or so.

Your guidance will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Khan1122

In my opinion, 283$ is a very small price to avoid a possible RQ . If I were you I would had postponed my trip.

Another option is to call CIC to ask if they have scheduled a test for you within the next 2-3 weeks , if not then go ahead with your visa otherwise postpone or cancel your trip.

Good luck!

Me too. I applied mid-June last year. I was planning to go home for the summer, haven't gone back for 3 years now and it is uni summer holidays (such a long break), but decided against going, because I don't want to miss the test in any case.

Better not take the risk.
