I think they do update GCMS regularly, because I submitted a document to them in December 2013 and I saw it updated. As a matter of fact, all documents and communication with them were documented in GCMS, even when I made inquiries for status updates.

The GCMS thing is really interesting. If Thebaft's GCMS was generated on the 17th of January,2014,there might have been a change in his update by now.I really feel excited that our seniors are getting their MR's and PPR.Our time is near i believe. We just keep looking unto Jesus the author and the finisher of our faith.

No per till now...oo. It seems we December applicants for 2263 on the spreadsheet didn't make the cap. The last per received under this NOC was from an applicant that submitted on Nov 26, 2013. I have sent two enquiry emails, one at sixth week and the other at ninth week, but no response. The other two applicants before me on the spreadsheet for Dec 2 & 4, have also not heard back from CIC till now. Don't know if they have already returned the application.

It really been tough not knowing ones fate........Is there any other means of knowing ones status outside ECAS or enquiry email?

Motivated,
So concerned with your situation. When you sent them the case search enquiry, what were the details of yours that you submitted? They always reply.I sent it to them on three occasions and they responded on those three occasions.

CAUTION

A lot of applicants are talking about FSW reopening in 2014. Happy to be proven wrong but i am certain that their is no official word about this from CIC. Now i think there is a chance that some unscrupulous Consultants are floating this idea so that innocent applicants can fall in their trap and they can collect fees using lines like .... "lets start working on your file so that you can apply as soon as the programme opens"

I have experienced this myself last time when consultants kept calling me saying that they will start preparing my file on the basis of previous NOC (2011 list). when i asked them what if my NOC is not included they said then they only keep a small service charge (small = approx 33%!! ) I eventually decided not to use any consultant and apply myself. I really think if a consultant is willing to prepare your file in advance for FSW 2014 then one should take in writing that they will not pay ANY fees in case the programme does not open in 2014. Remember EOI is a totally different thing from FSW.

I AM NOT SAYING THAT FSW WILL BE REOPENED FOR 2014 OR NOT. ALL I AM SAYING IS THAT AS FAR AS WE KNOW THEIR IS NO OFFICIAL NEWS ABOUT THE PROGRAMME'S FUTURE EXCEPT THAT THEY PLAN TO INTRODUCE EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) IN EARLY 2015.

Sorry friends if it sounds harsh/critical but it had to be said on the forum. We have had far too many cases told on this forum where agents have screwed things up and gone scotfree just because the applicants are not informed enough and think that the agent tried their best... ATB

To become a permanent resident of Canada, read all the information below:

Determine your eligibility – Federal skilled workers
Skilled workers are people who are chosen as permanent residents based on their ability to prosper in Canada.

We assess federal skilled worker (FSW) applications based on the factors set out below.

A) Basic eligibility
We will only process your FSW application if you have:

at least one year of continuous and paid (full-time or an equal amount in part-time) work experience
in a single occupation,
within the last 10 years,
at skill type 0, or skill levels A or B of the 2011 edition of the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC), and you:
have this work experience in one of the eligible occupations, OR
have a valid offer of arranged employment, OR
are an international student who is enrolled in a PhD program in Canada (or who graduated from a Canadian PhD program within the past 12 months) and meet these criteria.
AND

You meet all the minimum requirements below.

Note: If you meet all the conditions set out in sections A and B, we will process your application based on the six selection factors in section C. Even if your application is eligible to be processed, you must meet all of the other FSW program requirements, such as having enough money to support you and your family in Canada.

B) Minimum requirements
Work experience

If your application is eligible to be processed, we will then assess it to see if your work experience is valid.

Your work experience must be:

for at least one year in the same occupation,
continuous and paid (full-time or an equal amount in part-time),
within the last 10 years,

AND
skill type 0 (managerial occupations) or
skill level A (professional occupations) or
skill level B (technical occupations and skilled trades)

on the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC) list.
(The National Occupational Classification is a system used to classify jobs in Canada.)

Language ability

You must meet minimum language levels and include the results of a language test from an agency approved by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) when you apply that shows you meet the minimum language requirement of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7.

Education

You must have:

a Canadian diploma, certificate, or credential

AND/OR
a foreign educational credential, and an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) by an agency approved by CIC to show it is equal to a completed Canadian secondary or post-secondary educational credential.
About the application cap

Due to the large number of applications we get, we can only consider a limited number of applications per year. Between May 4, 2013, and April 30, 2014, we will consider no more than 5,000 complete FSW applications for processing. Within the 5,000 cap, we will consider no more than 300 applications per eligible occupation for processing within this same time frame.

This does not apply if you:

have a valid offer of arranged employment, or
are applying under the PhD stream (there is a cap of 1,000 applications in this stream, from May 4, 2013 to April 30, 2014).
C) Six selection factors
If you meet all the conditions set out in sections A and B above, we will process your application based on the six selection factors in the skilled worker points grid.Footnote 1 They are:

your skills in English and/or French, Canada’s two official languages,
your education,
your work experience,
your age,
whether you have arranged employment in Canada, and
your adaptability (how well you are likely to settle here).
To see how many points you might get, read about the selection factors

If you are not sure if you should apply as a skilled worker, try the Come to Canada Wizard to get an idea if your application would be eligible to be processed.

D) Proof of funds
You must also show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family after you arrive in Canada.

E) Inadmissibility
Some people are inadmissible—they are not allowed to come to Canada. Several things can make you inadmissible, including being involved in:

crime, or
human rights violations.
You can also be inadmissible for:

security,
health,
financial reasons, or
other reasons.
Find out more about inadmissibility.
