Hi,

I did my landing in Calgary in May 2015, stayed there for 3 weeks and left, during my stay I drove a rental vehicle on international drivers license. Can somebody please tell me if I will be able to drive on international drivers license this time when I visit Calgary in May 2016?

Absolutely you can drive with international driver license as long as your license still valid, I used to drive with international license for 1 year as well in Alberta.
