Hi! Feb 2015 applicant here. Passport requested by Manila Embassy May 2015. Passpor submitted to embassy June 1, 2015. Until now, no DM yet.

Is COA required for spouses of PR? I think it's only for spouses of Canadian Citizens. I didn't receive any email to attend COA seminar.

Hi MommyBear888 i think it is required. 'Coz ung husband ko po is umattend last thursday ng COA seminar...i think he received the invite through text message and email daw siya ininform... February 2015 applicant din po kami...pero wala pa siyang visa...still waiting pa din po...

It's not required po. Orientation po ito about basic do's and dont's etc. Choice mo kung aattend ka ng free seminar na ito or hindi.

Sis ako spouse nyang magtatah0ng yan hahaha PR ako when we applied then citizen na ako ngayon and i also informed Cic.

For PPR, I only got RCBC as well no other option.

I don't think there were any fees required though.

I have a question:

"All family members, whether or not they are accompanying you to Canada, MUST be declared and presented for examination to assess whether they are admissible to Canada. A false declaration on your IMM5406 (Additional Family Information form), any failure to declare a family member, or failure to present a “family member” for examination may be found to constitute misrepresentation and may render you inadmissible to Canada."

Does that mean all the family members even the one in the US needs to take medical?

If you applied for spousal sponsorship, medical exam is just for you unless you have an accompanying or non accompanying dependent(child/children). then they should have medical exam too.

I was instructed to submit it to VFS lang po. Im not even sure about the fees kung applicable pa sa amin dahil yung fees na nabasa ko ay from vfs global's website.

has anyone been through this? im chatting with a VFS operator and advised na wala na daw authorization if my spouses mom submits the passport and documents. legit kaya ito?

sorry I don't have any idea about the fee for VFS and since you were not given any other option, then you should follow their instructions. legit naman yung VFS eh and yes you don't need any authorization if someone else will submit your wife's pp in her behalf. just make sure the docs are complete to avoid any delays.
