This, of course, means nothing but thought some of you might be interested in knowing this.

Strange terms for me 'Received_by Visa Office' will be first and then "in process" will be second, looks like they have upside down the terms.

Peace!

I don't understand what you mean by the term

cchabert - there used to be two in process, but now there is only one status.

just an educative guess, this could either mean:
1) that your application was/has been sent to the local Visa Office after the initial assessment and has been received at the local visa office
2) your case has been approved and has reached the visa office responsible for issuing the PPR.

In any case, it looks to me to be positive @ the moment, knowing that something has moved and seems to be moving.

All the Best Rupesh. May ur Wishes and Dreams come true.

Thanks BobbyB. Unfortunately, i think the status change has to do with the system update yesterday. I am guessing of course.

This is what it says in the link of the status message.

We received your application for permanent residence on xxxx 2008.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on yyyy 2009. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application and supporting documents were received by the Buffalo office. They are pending review.

rupeshhari,

I have checked my status changed online from, "In process", We started Your application on March 12th 2008, to the new status reads "Application Received", and We received your application for permanent residence on November 7, 2008.

Additional Information , I have sent my complete Application on October 10th 2008 to Buffalo. I got my AOR on March 17th 2009 (I am under 0213 list). After two months of Online status from "in process" now to "Application Received".

Personally, I think they might have transferred my application from Buffalo to Los Angeles where i live, and continuing the process. I appreciate anyone's feed back. I hope this has been helpful for others in same situation.

Thats so weird that we have different status that sound the same. Did your status change yesterday?

Hopefully your application is transferred to LA, it would be so much faster.

i think the status change might be to do with the systems changes they did this morning. I am guessing it was partly with them cleaning up the status messages because i used to have two messages. Also, as of today, my old file number (the one from Sydney) is no longer there (i.e. I cannot log into there anymore).

As for the meaning of your status message, i have no idea. Mine is pretty self explanatory because they said, the visa office has received mine and is pending review :(

BobbyB, perhaps you are right. I guess there may be some difference between 'application received' and 'application received by visa office'

Thanks rupeshhari for those two links

They are really helpful for me

My status also changed to 'Application received' from 'IN PROCESS' since yesterday. Hope things will work fast and well.

Thanks again

btw, to add to this!!

Issuance of AOR does not mean that your application has been deemed eligible for processing. it is only after eligibility review that application will be proccesed otherwise fees will be refunded back!
