Need people's stories for a newspaper story on our disgraceful situation

Hi Guys
I know people are probably sick of hearing from me but I got a bit more of publicity for our cause. I am getting an email I wrote to the Hill times which is a weekly political paper read by many politicians put in the letters to the editors on February 29th. However, the journalist I also contacted wants to do a full story on our situation too. Would people here be willing to tell him their stories ...his email address is arana@hilltimes.com and his name is abbas. I truly believe the only way we will get this process to end is to put constant publicity on our disgraceful situation...so will people please email him asap and tell them how this wait is affecting their lives and your situation I think he wants to put it in the issue next week or week after ....let me know if you contact him...

There have been numerous articles in thr newspaper regarding the irresponsibility of cic regarding pr applications. If this wouldve helped we would all be residents by now. Starting jan cic has resumed processing applications at a decent rate so i think the best thing would be to let them continue instead of attempting to harrass them further. I have been a victim of their slow processing as i have been jobless and literally homeless in canada for about 18 months so trust me ive seen it all. And i know if thete was a solution to process our applications faster i wouldve worked on it. But there isnt and this certainly wont help either. My suggestion is u just hang tight and hope for the best or if u feel this can help ur cause go for it by all means.

A decent rate ?...ha I have to admit that made me laugh...first time in a long time in this forum. You do realise that there are still lots of people on this forum from august that have still not got medical requests?....then they will have to wait for rprf then whatever other requests CIC have. So lets go with your idea we do nothing what stops CIC from deciding next week right we are finished processing for 6 months like they did on 2015?. Absolutely nothing is the answer.

You know what stops them doing that ...publicity and pressure. I can see you got your medical request so I know exactly you dont want anything to upset your case. However I am thinking of everyone else.

So please if you are not going to email the reporter stay off this thread

tbh I don't think any media and publicity will help us much. CIC will simply ignore it. After our stories go to media and public, what we are getting are not any improvements on processing times, but mostly hateful media comments from native Canadians stating "Send foreign workers home", "No Canadians can fill their jobs?", "We can't let immigrants take over our country" etc, etc, blah, blah.
If there is one thing I truly learned thoughout this BS applying to PR process, it is knowing how average native Canadians really think of us.

Just tell your story nuke noodles. Tell him how long you have been waiting andf how you feel about it. I understand people writing off media attention but how do you know that because of the media attention they felt pressure to actually stop processing again. You dont know that if there was no media interest they may have delayed us again at least with more attention it may get to put more and more resources into clearing the backlog.
