need help regarding sponsoring from Cuba

I am sponsoring my NEW WIFE from Cuba and she has 2 children, she is going to make the medical exam and also the children, but they down there don't know how much I have to pay for the medical exam for all of them and when. I called the hospital over there in Havana and they said they are not collecting the money for medical exams, that once the VISA is granted we have to pay for it, but as far I know when you are sponsoring someone, you have to pay the medical exam right away, not at the moment of when THE VISA IS GRANTED, I NEED HELP IN THIS ISSUE

Why not phone the hospital directly and explain to them to make sure they know what they are talking about. Am sure CIC has been using the hospital for many years and they know what they are telling you.

I saw other discussions boards on other websites for BOTH USA and Canada immigration and they do say for Cuba, you pay after you get the visa issued. Weird and different, I know, but that is what Cuba does. You pay afterwards.

It is 400CUC for the medical exam and then the carta blanca is 150CUC -- payable, as mentioned, after visa approval. So that's 550CUC each (aka 1650CUC for all three)!

If they don't take the payment when you want them to, they take the payment when they want to.

You do not have to pay for nothing. She just hae to go to the hospital in Habana and make the test with the children. when you ask the PRE if you ask it in Cuba.. they will make you pay for the hospital examination but not before do not worry

Limanoid was right.. when you will pay for the exit visa ( PRE ) you will have to pay 550 CUC to Inmigracion de Cuba. ( 150 cuc for the Carta blanca and 400 CUC for the medical exam ) If your wife exit from Cuba with the temporary exit visa ( PVE ) you will just have to pay 150 CUC...But I must admit that certain province now are asking for the 400 CUC medical even if you are taking the PVE... but this is just when she will get the canadian visa.. so one thing at a time.....Good luck, I am really curious about obtain the visa without being married.

Your wife should know the difference between the two visa's, all Cubans do and if she doesn't she should ask Immigration and they will explain. The PRE is the way to go for her and n other. Pay the money up front and be rid of the constant reach into your pocket by Cuba.
