Hi,

Is it possible that a student visa be changed to working visa or work permit given at after 1 month of studying you found an employer that will offer you a job? Do I need to return home and process the work permit in my home country? Please advise! Thanks alot!

1. You need an approved Labour Market Opinion which the employer gets from HRSDC after advertising the position on the Job Bank for 2 weeks and then demonstrates that there are no Canadian/PRs available or qualified for the job. Can take 6-12 weeks.
2. If approved, as you have a study permit in Canada, you can apply for a work permit from Vegreville. 39 days. You can't start work until you have the approved work permit.
