My initial complete application was filed at NVO on 09 Nov 2009. The E-case changed to ''in process'' on 11 April 2012. It is now three months and two weeks since it turned ''in process''. yesterday, I checked with post office No message. I mean i have't received a request for Medical till today.

Why my case took such a very long time(more than 3 months) before Medical Request after being in process. I know that most friends in this forum received MR with in two to three weeks after being IN PROCESS. So, what's up with my case?

Please kindly advise me by comparing with your time lines.

Dear NVO applicants,

I have sent my passport a week before to NVO, when do you think will I get my passport back with mapple leaf visa, when will the bank draft be cashed after it is received by NVO and the medical receival additional line will be appear?

Give it around 5 weeks. That's the time it took ours to be completed. In our case, there was no Medical received line, only DM

Great to know that NVO is working very fast now and that many people are getting their Visas.

I received the MR and did the Medical last week. However, the MR request letter did NOT mention taking my passport to NVO. I find that strange, especially compared to many people in the forum who say they are taking the passport ONE month after Medical. Is this standard or should it be said explicitly in the letter?

Please share your experiences and advise.

In my experience, time lines differ from one person to the next. Personally i applied back in March 2010 and got my in process May 2011. I got my medical request in May 2012 so i can safely say i stayed 2 years before my file was dealt with.

All i know they deal with files eventually, so you will definitely move on to the next step of the process just cant give a time line

Sorry to ask,what is PCC?

PCC- Police Clearance Certificate, to show that the applicant has no criminal background and has a clean record.

It might be a different local term in Nairobi and if you know from where to get it, pls share.

Oh i see, well we obtain them at the CID headquarters on Kiambu rd, Muthaiga. You may contact them on +254202723090 to see if you can obtain yours from there as well.

when do you plan to leave? i know IOM - International Organization for Migration helps permanent residents with getting affordable airfare to the country you are leaving for.

i don't know if you got any replies but i know that each case is different and unique so just wait you will hear

from them. it does not have to follow similar routines

I hope "CID headquarters" also do for expatriates.

Also I was wondering since PCC is the term used by CIC and from your query, I reckeon it might be under a different name in Kenya.
So for easy understanding, can you tell me what do you call PCC here and how long generally it takes to get it?

Mr Rana,

We call it "Certificate of good conduct". It takes 2 weeks to process and costs one Thousand Kenya Shillings. As mentioned before, iam not sure if they do issue for expatriates but there is not harm in checking with them.
