Just to tell you that in some instances immigrants suffer a great deal. I have this friend who lives in Alberta. She immigrated from Italy. Her partner abused her in every way... taking her money, torturing her dog, saying bad words to her and so on! Then, one night the worst happened. Her partner assaulted her and tried to strangle her. My friend escaped and she lived in her car for a few days at minus 25, not knowing where to go and feeling ashamed to call me or other few friends she has made in Canada.
So there is no win-win situation right now... for immigrants and sponsors.
