Today I did a MP enquiry since I'm a July 2016 applicant. My BC started Nov 6 2017 Vienna visa office.

Does anyone know how long it will take to get an answer back from the MP and if the MP contacts the VO directly or IRCC?

For those which VO in cairo took thier passports since 5 months for security screening just got PUM this week and received visas with Passports but hope we not need also 5 months from November

I totally don't understand the way the VO works. They also don't give clear answers just it's in process......

Since two weeks they not reply me the VO at all hope is good sign

We contacted the local MP a week ago, they had promised to get back to us within 10days, and they did after 6 days.
Then MP said that they need to contact VO this time since IRCC in Canada suggested that.

It seems their first stop is IRCC in Canada, if IRCC does not have detailed answer, MP will schedule a call with VO.
As explained by MP, they would request IRCC or VO to contact them, and they usually do within 10days. So you should expect your MP response within 10 days or so.
