Moving used goods from U.S. to Canada before PR approved

We have an application pending for PR, but we have already purchased a house (whether we get to live in Canada for 6 months per year or permanently). In either case, we need to furnish the house, so we are planning to move our used house contents, e.g., furniture, books, cookware, clothes, from the States up to Canada. We planned on bringing an itemized inventory of everything in the U-Haul trailer and the truck to give to the border officials.

• Is there a specific form we need to fill out?
• Will they calculate duty at the border for us so that we can just hand over a credit card?
• Is there anything else we should know?

We plan to make several trips up over the course of the next year, so getting this squared away would be helpful. We don't want to run afoul of regulations or law as we wait for our PR decision. Thanks!
