Not yet but my partner landed Dec 15. It looks like they're approving PR cards for those who landed around Nov 23-24. Were you able to link the application to your GCKey account?
I landed on Nov 24th.. Still haven't been able to link it to GCkeys
Hey do you (or does anyone) know if you're able to travel out of the country & back after landing and while waiting for PR card?

I'm currently waiting for my COPR (sent it out on Jan 3rd) and planning to move up at the beginning of March. I have a few things already planned back home in the states (birthday & baby shower) in March and April that I'd want to travel back for, so hoping that's not an issue

Thanks!

Assuming you are driving to the states, you are fine. You can use your COPR for that. You do need your PR card to fly.

Post here when you get your COPR please... I sent mine in Jan 3 as well!

We have received an email today saying they have started our background checks, but it also had a letter attached saying they needed proof that I the sponsor was planning on moving and residing in Canada with my husband! Has anyone else been asked this and what did you send? We haven' enquired about houses etc as we were waiting for approval then we were going to fly out to see where exactly we wanted to live? Thanks

Did you not supply this proof with your application? It's required on the checklist if the sponsor is presently living outside Canada

As long as you land prior to the expiry it doesn't matter when you land :)

Hi there, I added an additional letter outlining our 'Plan A' to live together in Canada once COPR approved. I added this as it said I had to prove that it was my intention to live with my spouse upon approval and nowhere on the form was a suitable area to elaborate on this area. My letter just laid down what my plans were for employment and housing as well as how we would support ourselves financially.
I also added an extra paragraph with a 'Plan B' should the first not work out. As we are not entirely sure what geographical region we will eventually settle, like yourself, we gave a rough location with a caveat that this may change.
To be honest it was a bit vague in areas but honest and upfront. So far this hasn't been queried. It was always my intention to confirm elements of the letter if and when they were finalised before landing/approval. If nothing changed then the letter would be all they would have. They understand that not everything has been nailed down before arriving in Canada but are keen to see some intent and plan.
It effectively worked as an affidavit as it was a signed and dated document (by me) that I could be held account for.
Hope this helps.

Thank you so much, that does help! Did yours get approved? It' so hard as you don' want to get so involved with moving until approved

Will do!
I'm getting a bit nervous because I sent a self-address, paid UPS envelope and the UPS person seemed to do some voodoo magic to make it work (he originally couldn't create a package originating in Canada back to US, but then somehow figured out how to make a domestic package look like it was international and coming from Canada). Regardless, hoping that it works and they have no issues.
Let me know if you get yours too!

Not approved Twinny, but they haven't asked for any more info and are processing BGC at the moment. That's not to say they won't, but if they do I will just add/elaborate on what they already have with the same baseline plan. Best of luck.

I did the same thing as you did through UPS. I used international shipping for sending, and domestic shipping for the prepaid return envelop. The difference is I didn't noticed about UPS used "domestic shipping" for the international package. I found out by myself 1 month later, I was worried about it that my package gonna return to the sender due to the wrong shipping method. I called and asked UPS center to ask about it and all of agents told me that domestic shipping cannot go through the custom. Thank God, after 3 days miserable waiting time, my return tracker finally got activated. CPC-Ottawa told me the UPS in Canada fixed the wrong shipping label on my envelope there and that is why the return tracker hasn't been activated for several days. I just got my COPR today, I believe you will be fine, too. Hope for the best!
