Hello. Our case have been received on july 28, 2016. I was approved in October as sponsor and it was send to mexico. On january 2017 they asked for 2 pictures and to pay permanent resident fee 490$. Since then we have not heard from them. We have small child. I gave birth alone here in canada. I went back to RD to visit my husband for 3 month. I am struggling here alone I need my husbands help. I do not know what to do. I has been 13 month and NOTHING. I have a dpression and 1 year old on my hands. I have no help.
What area are you from? You should contact the Mexico visa office or reach out to the MP for immigration in your area. Explain your situation and ask them to help you.

Our MP reached them 3 times, they are just saying in process and that it takes 18 months in general. I just do not understand why couples without babies have their process a lot faster. My husband has never been married no other children. No criminal record, healthy.

Oh ok. I was assuming by what you said when you have heard nothing, that you literally have heard nothing. I am so sorry for you. I can't imagine how hard it is especially with children. I know it can be very hard emotionally and mentally.
I don't really know of any other options you have at the moment then if you have already tried that. Maybe someone else here has other ideas.

If you haven't done so, you might want to order your GCMS notes now to get an idea of what they have done so far with your application and get an idea of how much longer it might be until they finish processing your application.
Good luck and hope you hear something soon!

I understand you. I have been waiting for 12 months and nothing too, any type of communication. I ordered my notes in July and no answer too (really strange). I sent them an email asking the status of my notes and they only reply with a generic email. Be strong, I wish you the best.

Thank you. Yes very strange how slow everything is. And I would be even more mad if it is something negative. Canada is great country but man they are really not helping families. They are testing them, but for gods sake let children have their parents. So much precious time wasted.

For those of you who are overdue in receiving your notes, please make a complaint. If we don't do it, ATIP will continue to leave people hanging without a response to their enquiries. I saw another girl on this forum who also requested her notes and she waited 36 days before ATIP responded to her and they told her that they were unable to meet the deadline to get the notes in 30 days because there was some sort of special circumstances. They also told her they needed a 60 day extension to get her the notes, so after she received that email, she still had to wait another 20 - 30 days. To me that is really unacceptable.

If they are backlogged and can't deliver on their word as in their website, they should not put it in the website that they will send you the notes within 30 days. We as customers (we all paid $5) have the right to complain if they don't deliver as they stated they would. Also, who knows if it will end up like the OP I mentioned above.

My notes took 36 days to deliver and they also did not respond to my email enquiring about my status either. I was going to send off a complaint the next day but did get my notes. If it has been more than 5 business days overdue and you have not received an answer from ATIP, here is the link for lodging a complaint http://www.oic-ci.gc.ca/eng/lc-cj-logde-complaint-deposer-plainte.aspx. Hopefully everyone gets their notes soon!

I went to Mississauga MP they wrote to them (Mexico office). They said that our medical expired and generaly it takes 18 month. Now it is 14 month and they did not ask redo it or anything. I assume it takes time to redo medicals and send passport and all that. To be honest I think it might take more than that. So I will probably have to go back to dominican to see my husband. It is just I am here in Canada without work and my husband there earning pennies. It is becoming very difficult. My lawyer said outland applications are faster so worth the wait. But look it is going for 2nd year and we are not together. At least inland can be together and support each other. Even if they will give him PR these hard times will never be forgotten. Looking at other couples and thinking how lucky they are to be together and see each year of their childrens life.

I will definitely lodge a complaint, I wished I had thought of it sooner. Thank you Majesty for your input, I really appreciate it.
