Right you are! The airline in Colombia will need/want to see your PR card as well to ensure you are properly documented to enter Canada before they let you on the aircraft. (We tested this when returning to Canada from a vacation in Europe. We held back the PR card when checking in to see if indeed they would ask my Mexican wife for it, and it took a few minutes but they eventually did.)

Have a great vacation!

Just thought I'd post this timeline excerpt from Facebook. A Mexican applicant commented today Aug 8, 2016;

"We just got PGR request!
Our timeline is as follows:
Application received Nov 18/15
AOR Jan 14/16
AOR2 April 22/16
Sponsorship approval received April 29/16
Started processing the application on April 28/16 "

So approximately 3.5 months from AOR2 to PGR request. So, this application is tracking towards an 11 month total processing time, all things being equal.

I only post this so that everyone keeps their processing time expectations realistic. Otherwise you will drive yourself crazy waiting.

Wishing everyone Speedy Processing!

Hello guys, I just want to ask if anybody has any idea if after receiving AOR2 and more than 3 months passed, means we will have an interview or what could it be? We received AOR2 on may the 3rd and I saw people with similar time lines is already getting news from CIC, but nothing seems like moving for us.
Thank you in advance for your time

I saw few users taking as much as 3.5 months to get their PGR after AOR2. Mexico VO seems to be processing applications in batches. So I am hoping you hear back from them in next 2-3 weeks

Thank you in advance for your time
I have added dates for your timeline to the timeline spreadsheet and organized you into the main spreadsheet. Please confirm the dates and info is correct. Please update your timeline as you reach milestones either directly in the spreadsheet, or here in the forum. Your data helps others from Guatemala get an idea of timelines when applying from that country.

I would expect that you should hear something soon, assuming a routine application. There are so many factors that affect the progress of an application once it hits the MCVO. It is surely being reviewed for eligibility at this stage. You could request your GMCS notes, which when received 30 days later would give you a snapshot of at what stage your application was at the time you requested the notes.

Remain patient as hard as that can be during this process. You need to trust that your application is going through due process and you will hear news when you are supposed to. As for the interview, your application is what it is. I'm sure you did your very best at providing a complete, accurate and honest application. If MCVO determines that for some reason they feel the need to interview you then they will ask for one. It is totally out of your control once you have submitted your application. Only the quality of information that you submitted and the proof of veracity of the relationship with your spouse will help to determine whether or not an interview is required. An interview is not a deal breaker anyway. To my mind it is more of a final confirmation for them of a real and ongoing relationship. If the VO has serious misgivings about your application they will simply deny it. Remember though, about 89% of applications are approved!

I'm sure you'll be fine!

Speedy Processing!

Feel free to add information where appropriate.

Have been using it, although there are people in forum who haven't bothered to add an entry. I saw another user who got his visa processed under 7 months ( oct applicant ), and already landed.
