We did our Medical Tests on 08.10.09 and our appointment was fixed for today. After checking physically and after examining the reports the doctor told to do the following.

1. For myself - To do the Urinalysis test again as they have seen some blood in the urine.
2. For my Wife - They told to do the thyroid test.

My question is the above two problems is it a major thing for immigration authorities to reject our application and on what stages blood is seen in the urine.

thanks
rajiv

sorry to hear about your case but to be honest with you blood in urine is considered to be one of the reasons people
fail their medical examinations for canada immigration. One health grounds, people with blood in urine are considered
inadmissible. i know of a family that failed their medical exam due to one of their children (19years old) having blood in
his urine.

Hi,
Don't get tensed!. Just relax, take it easy and go for the tests as advised. In case the doctor found something wrong,
perhaps he will ask to follow some treatment for a while and repeat the medical exam after the medication.
The urine analysis is to confirm whether there is any problem with the kidney such as stone or trace of crystals.
The thyroid function is also is a part of investigation of routine lab test of T3, T4 & TSH.. etc to clear any doubts by the doctor which is due to some common symptoms in any women, what he might have observed .
I don't think these examinations will not lead to any results which will disqualify you both from the immigration. It will not be due to any major problem or disease
Good luck!!

dear all,

thanks for the posts. Really, its give me some sort of courage. Morning when i read chandans message i got worried by seeing the case referral of chandan.

This is what the doctor told us.

they have seen a small portion of blood ie. they have written it as 2+. She told to redo the test after 1 or 2 days after drinking water lots of water. If its in the same stage then she will advise for further tests.

Any experience people pls advise whether it can be washed out by drinking lots of water.

thanks
raj

Hi Rajiv.

Now when you go for the tests, drink loads of water and be relaxed. It should be fine. Best of luck

pk09, i only wrote about a family that i happen to know closely because they live in the same street with me and we do relate well,
nothing to scare anybody about but just a typical example with whom i know. only cic have the power to approve or disprove but
this does not mean we should not share experiences. To be quite honest, i never heard of ' blood in urine' before until that family told me
and this is why i related it to this person's case. nothing to scare anyone at all.

I just wanted to share my experience. May be it will be useful for somebody else with the same problem. I just did my urine test and I was asked to repeat it due to high level of protein. Doctor said in 99% of the cases it means nothing and no worries. 1% though is that it might be the sign for future kidney disease. If that is so CIC might send me to the kidney specialist for extra examinations. But that does not mean refusal in your application. It will just take longer to finalize it.
Good luck to all!

Dear Raj,

Both of ur probs r absolutely frivolous. I suggest don't get perked up. U will sail thru (provided u didn't have a history of any complcations). And pray God that there actually is none. Now here's my 'realtime/actual' case example:

1. I am a High BP, High cholesterol, Blood-puss-proteins+other precipitates case, diagnosed since 1 yr.
2. I'm on heavy medication (7 diff tabs/caps a day) since then. Alongwith a kidney flush syrup taken for 2 months earlier.
3. My medications continue till date; and is lifelong prescription.
4. Presently, due to all these medications, it's under control.
5. Thus, my situation is similar to you.

By certain suggestions above, I must be a gone case, RIGHT ?
WRONG...

I have CLEARED MY MEDS !!!
HOW ???

1. I knew my diagnosis since long.
2. I ALSO KNEW that this condition is NOT A FAILING CASE with CIC.
3. I had intimated the above to my DMP before commencement of the tests.
4. I also deposited copies of all my diagnosis, prescriptions, ECG strip, Ultrasound etc to the DMP.
5. the night before I had taken only liquid veg diet.
6. While at the clinic I consumed 1 full bottle of water.
7. I informed the above to the Doc. (He said it was good to do so...)
8. then he took all my tests.
9. Thank God, there was nothing unusual at all in all my tests.
10. All my earlier supporting docs are submitted alongwith the DMP's report to CIC.

Before parting, my DMP informed me that I am thru and have nothing to worry about.
My meds were done at one of the best, costliest & highly reputed clinics in Dubai.

Now, why I wrote such a lengthy post ?

Just to make u aware, that blood in urine is routine. Happens with lot of us. A probable reason is low intake of regular fluids. Another is a high stress work environ. Yet another is lack of regular excercise.

Until u have a chronic ailment (which I believe/wish/hope that u don't), there is NOTHING TO WORRY. A good DMP would have told u to take water & overnight liquid diet. However, no much damage is done. Highly probable that u will sail thru easily in ur next sub-test.

About the 'thyroid' issue for ur spouse, ditto. Not a thing to worry. That would also be sorted out in the next visit that u do to your DMP.

My friend, now relax...remember again, contrary to another post above, ur problem is NOT A MEDICAL FAILURE CASE AT CIC.

Hope that helps.

All the best !

Does this mean that DMP's only send medicals to CIC once they are clear??
No, my friend...

The DMP, if finds abnormalities, shall himself ask u for more tests. The results of those shall be cognizitive to him, then he shall submit his 'report' on the supplied med forms' alongwith all supporting docs to the CHC. It also shall be appended with his special opinion sheet, incase of critical/semi-critical/chronic case. Thus, it can be a 'conclusive' or 'open for CIC'.

Once the CHC receives it, they have their own board to certify the DMP's report. They may concur with the DMP's opinion (whether good or bad) OR may ask for further tests OR might conclude in whichever way they deem fit.

Regards.
