Medical exam validity extension for additional 12 months (new CIC Bulletin)

Hello to everyone,

Just a small update on my file.
I was waitng for a medical extension but apparentlly they didn't give it to me.
I have to redo an x-ray once again... .
And I have to go down to Bucharest to do it
And that will delay my file... .

I am very angry but I don't have other choice only to do what they asking me to.

Wow...I really hope that they are able to complete the processing quickly and that it doesn't delay things too much.

May I ask how you found out about having the redo the chest X-ray? Email? Phone?

Dear Friends,

Now I have to re do the medicals, can you please help me with my below question. I am going to send an email to VO office, but if anybody has any idea, please help me.

My wife and I did medicals initially in Feb 2011. At that time, we did not do my wife's X-ray as she was pregnant. My baby's medicals, and my wife's X-ray was done in Dec 2011.

My wife's and my medicals expired and we did not get the extension. I got an email to redo the medicals for me and my wife last week. However, I am wondering do we need to re-do the X-ray for my wife as her X-ray result won't expire until Dec 2012.

Please help. Thanks in advance.

Congrats Lasiar, you have finally got it, what a relief, plz let's know your husband's experience on landing. I have yet to get my passport back..

This is great news--sadly when the office told my partner he had to have his done in 45 days ( mid May), no one made any mention of this! So, meds were done and apparently that was $300 down the tubes :-\
But, what's done is done and I'm thrilled for the people who get to benefit from this!

Yes, it is wonderful. They probably didn't mention it to you because there's a small window for this to work (12-15 months from the original medical) which had passed by the time they asked you for your second medical.

The important things is that you got them done and by now it's history

That is exactly what they had asked me to do. The IO had requested an extension and after one i was adviced to re-do an chest x-ray which i did and i had to send if off to London vo and it took one month and 10 days mfor them to finalize the application after they recieved the x-ray, fingers crossed for you. The good thing is that you know that your file is not forgotten and you will have your COPR in a month if you act upon it very quickly.. Good luck with the appointment with a doctor..

I just took an appointment with a doctor in Bucharest, they were very suprised to see that only a chest x-ray was requested.
They said that I need only this email received from the Embassy, and the results and they will send it by themselves via email to London office...it was the same in your case? Or they just gave it to you the results and you send it personaly by mail ??

@OhCanadiana--I'm not even sure, but that might be the problem. I thought our case was simple, it's been 15 months since they've received our app., avg processing time is 9 months, but our e-cas message stated that processing BEGAN 11 months after they received it. Still waiting patiently though

Base on the Medical Report Section A Client Identification & Summary it was dated AUG. 13, 2012 but in the envelope AUG.15, 2012 but Mr. Postman just delivered it earlier around 10:00am AUG. 24, 2012 my Mom received it. I'm here in Bulacan.
