Yes, it absolutely appears they're going in the order they were received in Mississauga.

If that's the case then I should be hearing something anytime soon. If I recall, someone here said their application was received on may 1 and everything was clear on nov 1..... my application was in on may 9 i think. I haven't heard a single word from cic....no aor, no sponsor approval, nothing. Only a letter asking for a signature for one paper that I forgot to sign. On that letter was my ecas and the status has constantly been application received. I sent email asking what's going on and was told that my papers have been transferred to London which I guess means I've been approved to sponsor. IF they're processing in the order they were received in mississaugua then I should be pretty close now.

Hello...

i TOO APPLIED IN mAY...Im just curious to know...on the CIC website when I check the status of my wifes application, some things have changed and we have gotten our hopes up extremely high. When we used to check our status we would see:

Sponsorship Application Status: Decision Made. Permanent Residence Application Status: In process.
When we would click on "in process", all it would say is medicals received. NOW, as of last week, when we click on in progress, this is what it says:

We received ****** ********'s application for permanent residence on May 22, 2012.

We started processing ****** ********'s application on October 20, 2012.

Medical results have been received.

Doesw this mean that we are indeed CLOSE to being approved?..or could we be stuck in this state for a long time still??

Hey Adrian,

Truth is nobody knows exactly how long your status will stay like that but you are basically as close to the end as possible without having DM or the COPR sitting on your doorstep. I would think that you should have the visa in the next week or 2 but with CIC nothing is guaranteed. I would be extremely happy with your ECAS status.

Good luck and hope that Visa comes soon :D

Hello all, I am new to these forums. My Canadian husband is sponsoring me, a US Citizen. As I'm a May application as well, I thought I'd provide my information: Category - Family; Visa office - Buffalo (Guess Ottawa now?); Mailed to CPC-M 4.24.12; Rec'd 5.02.12; Medical done Aug 2011 (I'm guessing I'll need a new one before they approve my application as it's only valid a year?); Sponsor Approved 7.25.12; My application in progress 10.01.12; CIC e-mailed request for info 10.01.12; Mailed the requested info to CIC 10.16.12 ... have not heard anything else.

The information request they sent us was a bit odd. My husband, at the time of mailing the application, lived with me in the US (has since Dec 08). The sponsor packet says he is allowed to sponsor me so long as he intends to resume residence in Canada once I enter as a resident. His sponsorship was approved; however, while starting to process my application they requested that we provide proof that he intends to resume residency. The proof requested was as if he currently lived there (utilities, bank history, etc)! At the time we received the request for information he was working a temporary job for his brother's landscaping company in Canada. I sent a detailed letter about what's going on, provided the very short bank history, and asked 3 people to write letters for us. His Mom wrote a letter verifying we are going to live with her and build on her land; his former boss in Canada (prior to moving to the US) wrote a letter verifying we keep in touch, he knows our intents to reside there and that he has my husband's application in case a position re-opens; and my former professor/boss and current friend wrote a letter verifying she knows our intents. They all also vouched for our relationship (married 2.14.09). My husband is worried now that they are going to deny my application which to me would be silly to deny my application based on this when he was already approved for sponsorship. I'm just crossing my fingers that they approve my application fast. Being apart from my best friend and husband is extremely hard. We are ready to start the new chapter of our lives together in Canada.

I wish everyone good luck and a speedy application process!

Don't think that it is odd for them to ask that. If the sponsor is outside Canada they most certainly would ask for that. Try not to worry, sounds like you have got it covered.

And to the all the other posters, YES we are all REAL close. Although, I was speaking specifically to a trend noticed for the Manila visa office.

Congrats 'mtang'! That's awesome!

Hey can you do me a HUGE favour, (if you are able)? May you have a look in the Duty Free store from where you are going/departing over there and tell us (or me by PM if you prefer) whether they have 'Hennessey XO' (with emphasis on the "XO") or not, and if so, how much please? My flight home from MNL runs through there and I've never been through that airport before. I know I can get it on my way there (via different itinerary), but I prefer not to lug it around Philippines for 3 weeks. I cringe to open it there to share and see "ice" added to it, or MIXED with Coca-Cola, goodness me!

I want to send an email to my VO and ask them to confirm that they have actually received the additional documents they asked me to send them, as long Post Office cannot confirm that.

Do you think that's a good or bad idea!!!???

Hey,

Realistically if I were in your shoes, I would send them an enquiry and just see if they had received the documents and ask about an update. It certainly won't do any harm. Worst they will do will be to ignore it and maybe they will issue a full update.

Good luck, :D

When I sent the enquiry I had that reply in my email:

Please note that it is impossible for us to reply individually to each
email. If you need information on temporary resident visas
(visitors/students/temporary workers) or on documents required for
returning residents, please consult our website. If
you need information on how to immigrate to Canada, please consult the CIC
site.

This is an automatic reply.

What does it mean?
Are they going to reed and probably answer my enquiry?
Or my mail went to bin without someone read it?

It is an automated reply, generated for all E-mails. They will view your E-mail in time and if they deem it important or relevant to your case, they will give you a reply. When I have contacted my Visa office they have replied within 7 days. Allow a few days, maybe a week or 2 and they may or may not reply.
