Hi man,
How you know which office will process you case?
It does not show on my application status though.
Here's the list of IRCC offices. Your office will be the one closest to your home address.

Hi everybody,

Application sent 10th of March
Application received 13th of March
AOR 31st of March
IP 5th of April

Hope very much that my test is before the 23rd of May as I then have to fly to Europe for a whole month to care for my elderly mother (85) who lives alone.

Best of luck to all of you
Stef.

2009 Citizenship by Descent Rule-change Puzzler:

I recently received my certificate of citizenship, by descent, stating that I HAVE BEEN a Canadian citizen all of my 70 years even though I was born in the U.S.

My daughter was born in the U.S. in 1995, long before the 2009 rule change limiting citizenship by descent to the first generation of a parent born in Canada.

This from the CIC website with MY comments in CAPITAL LETTERS:
" On April 17, 2009, the rules for Canadian citizenship changed for persons born outside Canada to Canadian parents (I W A S A CANADIAN CITIZEN WHEN MY DAUGHTER WAS BORN, AS MY CERTIFICATE STATES) and who were not already Canadian citizens when the rules changed" (DAUGHTER A L R E A D Y W A S A CITIZEN BECAUSE SHE WAS BORN TO A CANADIAN CITIZEN, ME, WELL BEFORE THE 2009 RULE CHANGE).

Does this make sense? Would it possibly worthwhile for her to submit an application for certificate of citizenship? Or am I just beating a dead horse? THANKS VERY MUCH. Dennis Havlena, dual Citizen Canada/U.S.

Not the right thread to ask the question but you can figure out by answering questions in this questionnaire by CIC: https://na1.se.voxco.com/SE/56/amicanadiansuisjecanadien/?lang=en&tui=a0770328-9d5c-4c72-ada6-546455715a4d
