My brother received his Test invite last month. He applied in October 2019. It's an online exam anytime in February. He has the option to choose the exam date as it's already online.

In my guess, I'm expecting a test invite by June or July for March 2020 applicants.

If the PR Card is going to expire (say July 2021). Should I need to renew or just wait citizenship granted?

Thank you.

You can give them a call to know about the latest status. They may be able to fix the issue with ECAS as well.

Sincerely wonder when IRCC will continue to hide under this COVID situation. The COVID hasn't gone away so why not move on and find ways to make the process efficient. They say online testing but how hard is it to schedule people for online testing. Is the testing proctored? Total inefficient and non-accountable i find the leadership simply. What we cannot accept in other areas or fields why should it be so with them.

The online tests have started but unfortunately only for Urgent Processing as they keep testing the platform and its stability Regular applicants should start seeing test invites later this year or early next year am sure. They have 85,000 applicants and counting backlogged for citizenship so I don't think anything will be any faster than what it is now.

I recall one person reporting that a friend of his/hers received test invite and IRCC had received his/her application in Jan 2020.

But yes, most applicants getting test invites now are 2019 applicants. Early 2020 applicants might start seeing a sizable number of invites in the second quarter this year.
September 2019 applicant still waiting for my invite.. Test scheduled Feb 2020 and then cancelled back in March of last year, ZERO information since then. Called the office and they were like "Well, you're not scheduled for the online test anytime soon, sorry - let's send you a study guide." 6,700 people have taken the test, supposedly cancelled tests are being given a priority, but I have yet to see that filter through on my end, unfortunately.
