Congratulations for your PPR this is awesome. I wanna ask you if you have to bring all your family members with you or just go by yourself to get the VISA. I know they have to be there for landing but not sure about the visa?

As much as I am happy for those getting their PPR request, as much as I am getting more and more frustrated. I am feeling that I need to close my account over here and stop looking at updates. I am really getting sooooo frustrated :-(

And the problem is that I can't get an update on my application from them and my e-cas is still showing as Application Received :-(

Anyone among March Applicants have the same situation as mine???????

My status is the same. plus my work permit expires end of January. Talk about stress... you aren't alone though

Hi MAMMAR,

I think we shoudl be able to carry our family passports with out them but anyway I wanted to complete also landing while on the way back Canada.

Yehhey among the march applicants, im the first person to get Passport request. I will be sending my passport to detriot by mail. some people say it takes 6 weeks to get ur passport back. Is it true?

Congrats, pongpong! Here's the info I got from my consultant, when I asked him about passport times: "They only request the passport once they are ready to issue the visa. In most cases they are only requesting a copy of the passport, so you may not even have to part with it at all [please note that I am a US citizen, so it may be different for the blue-passport holders]. Either way you won’t have to part with it for very long." I'm assuming it won't take as long as 6 weeks to get back.

I'm also in Edmonton -- I see you said you had to send your passport to Detroit, but you sent your immigration medicals to Ottawa. Is Ottawa processing your case? I hope so, because then maybe my PPR is around the corner, too.

Hi Diana! Im from Edmonton too. yes my medical results was sent to ottawa cause there the one who's processing my application. But according to their letter, i have to send my original passport (im from the Philippines), 2 photos and $490 as RPRF to the CONSULATE GENERAL OF CANADA IN DETROIT.

Congratulations to pongpong and ONAP! your ordeal is at its end and All the best to those of us who are still waiting for the medicals and the PPR.

I am also a March applicant. I did my medicals in September and I am now waiting for PPR (if everything goes smooth ). My status on ecas still says "in process". Hopefully it changes soon .

Hi All,
First of all let me thank you every one on this thread as I got so much help during this entire process.

As I mentioned I was unable to wait and got visa and landing completed today and just came back home.

Entire trip was smooth as I live in Kitchener and completed landing formalities at Windsor tunnel immigration office.

We submitted passport, fee and photo graphs along with the letter which we received from CPP Ottawa @9AM and received passports @2PM (Detroit)

We got visa stamped passport and also confirmation of permanent residence (IMM 5688) two copies

Then after that we came to Windsor tunnel office and officer seems to be very much familiar with this process as he did not ask for any additional document apart from asking me where I live in Canada.
He took about 1 hour as he has to complete the same for my family (4 members including me)

They keep one of the IMM 5688 and we get one of that signed by them and we also need to sign on the same form when they ask us do.

Please keep following handy while you go for landing just in case

Your recent pay slips
Recent bank statements
T4s etc..
