You can add a change to our status too, Parker24, my wife received her PPR today!!

Actually, not the passport, but a photocopy!! I'm amazed, actually, as I thought she was being processed through LA and from what I've read, they require the entire passport. But the agent she's dealing with is out of Ottawa, she's to send the copy there.

She was also required to get an RCMP clearance letter, anyone else have to do that? Anyone know why that's necessary? We didn't see any reference to that in the guide when she filled out her application or we'd have taken care of it earlier.

She filed her fingerprints with the RCMP electronically today, they're supposed to be processed within 72 hours, then we just have to wait for Canada Post to send the letter, which we'll then forward on to Ottawa. It's not a big deal, just wondered if anyone else had had to do likewise?

Our experience in dealing with CIC via email has been stellar, everyone my wife's communicated with has been very kind and personable, we can't say enough good things about them.

Needless to say, we're thrilled to have seen this wonderful progress!!
congratulations,
your experience with CIC has been stellar vs some of us who would say the complete opposite!

I'm sorry, Dr Eng X, truly. It's been a pretty gruelling ordeal for you, as well as some others. I'm not sure why that is, it would surely seem there are some serious inconsistencies in how the process is handled. I do sincerely hope you hear something very soon.

It depends on the VO, but that sounds about right.

I've been curious to know what date they give you to land usually is. I've heard it's when your medicals expire, but hubby's expired on the 16th of this month. We'll see soon enough! We're going to the states (we, being myself and my mother) to mail his passport and then go Black Friday shopping later haha :)

You going to have them mail it regular back? I considered trying to use a US Global Express Mail envelope to Canada ($23?), but in my case I wasn't sure where I'd be, so it was easiest to have them send it to my company's US office.

Nooo. We are having it mailed to hubby's US address. His landlady (who is his best friend's mother) said she will send it on to us here in Canada. So we're sending it with tracking, BOTH envelopes and then when Laurie (landlady) gets it, she has hubby's permission to open it and put it in an express post envelope which we are paying for and getting it here haha :) I don't trust "regular mail" haha

It is at their discretion and it can be up to a year. In fact I have seen on the website a year is the normal occurence.

Hi I have question hopefully someone can assist me with.

My wife has not yet landed (she is from ohio), but I just got a new condo and we have lots furniture and some other items from our wedding. Our items are in the US. We would like to ship them from the US to Canada with a professional moving company. Will I be able to get them across the border? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes. Make sure she declares them at the time of landing (on the B4/B4A forms) as "goods to follow". Then the moving company will need a copy of the B4/B4A forms in order to import them without duties. This is described on the CBSA website.

Thanks Computergeek for the information. Now my wife is not yet landed or been approved to come to Canada as of yet. Still waiting for her approval to come through. Now could that still pose an issue of brining the items across the border with the moving company?

"COPR to be sent next week"!

App: March 8, 2012
Sponsor approval: June 4
"In Process": Sep. 13
Request for RCMP prints and RPRF: Sep. 13
MEDs extended: Oct. 29
PPR: NOV. 9

I emailed again yesterday and got this reply today "Thank you for your email, your COPR should be issued next week".

It's being mailed to my address in Canada so it shouldn't be long now!
