I haven't been on in a few days... We received an email yeaterday from CIC asking for my husbands SCANNED passport! I'm not really sure what to expect next but I believe this was his PPR. I have emailed the scanned passport and now we wait

Congratulations! Nothing feels better than when the CBSA officer hands you the passport back, stamped with that "I-------" and the executed COPR.

Very excited for the bunch of us! I updated the spreadsheet as best as I could. Check your lines and see if it's all right!

And now I must dive back into Car Importation 101 ???

You can add a change to our status too, Parker24, my wife received her PPR today!!

Actually, not the passport, but a photocopy!! I'm amazed, actually, as I thought she was being processed through LA and from what I've read, they require the entire passport. But the agent she's dealing with is out of Ottawa, she's to send the copy there.

She was also required to get an RCMP clearance letter, anyone else have to do that? Anyone know why that's necessary? We didn't see any reference to that in the guide when she filled out her application or we'd have taken care of it earlier.

She filed her fingerprints with the RCMP electronically today, they're supposed to be processed within 72 hours, then we just have to wait for Canada Post to send the letter, which we'll then forward on to Ottawa. It's not a big deal, just wondered if anyone else had had to do likewise?

Our experience in dealing with CIC via email has been stellar, everyone my wife's communicated with has been very kind and personable, we can't say enough good things about them.

Needless to say, we're thrilled to have seen this wonderful progress!!

It means there was an identity match with her information in the RCMP database. The purpose of the fingerprints is to disambiguate here and ensure that the person with a police record is not her.

Oh, that makes sense! Thanks for that info. You should seriously become an immigration consultant, you know, the silver lining in the cloud of the many trials you went through to become a PR! Maybe folks would pay you the big bucks!
